@stefan Sweet. I was planning on buying 5 sets. The old sets were just a tad bit too expensive for me. The new sets didn't have the price drop I thought they would, but it was enough to bring the amount of "bang for yur buck" that i look for(assuming the same prices KS backers got). They are certainly wonderful pieces

Also, Like in the Kickstarter, If you buy multiple Game Tile Sets from our site when they are available, the price per set will be less....

This is great to hear.

@himajin Yeah I know man I really wish I could got in on that. I didn't even know about it till after it was closed though. It seems like there are ways to save a fair amount of money with these new tiles, but KS backers really got a good deal. I'll be checking frequently for the next opportunity

Hi
I sent an email asking about the Dwarvenite that is coming out in November about how much it will cost?
Here a copy of the email I got; the game tiles will be for sale on Nov. 4th on our website. The prices will be much like they were on the KS project – less a little because shipping will be calculated during check out.I was under the impression that after the kick starter had finished that the cost for the Dwarvenite would be a lot cheaper than the master range, but buy the look of it will still be almost the same price as the full range.
I was looking at the unpainted range to save money as I am quite capable of painting it myself.
So I would like to know why it was said that the Dwarvenite would be a lot cheaper after the kick starter had finished. It seem to me that all the talk about bring out the new range and being a cheaper way of getting into Dwarven forge is a bit misleading?
Dwarvenite was meant to be massed produced ,thus bring the price down ,but all can tell is that you will only be saving a little on P+P ,so the sets are still going to be expensive to get !.
I am a little disappointed about this as I so wanted to get this, but at the prices it sells for at the moment I will give it a miss, unless the price for the new range is a lot more reasonable?.

I'm not sure what would give you the impression that Dwarvenite would cheaper after the kickstarter... why would anyone back the KS at all if at the same time the people who took the risk (backers) start receiving their product Joe User can go on the website and buy the same thing at a substantially lower price than what was offered in the Kickstart? That doesn't make any sense.

If anything, I would expect the price of Dwarvenite to increase over the KS, since generally the advantage of a KS is helping a company expand their line for retail and getting a price break in doing so.

At $65 per set for unpainted that is quite a savings over the current cost of Master Maze and puts them around the original price of 10+ years ago. I would guess they are at least 30-40% cheaper than Master Maze.

Part of the confusion is due to the way some people heard what Stefan said. In the intro video he mentions the increasing cost of resin and labor driving up the cost of the resin sets. What many people didn't catch is that the prices on the site don't reflect all the increases in cost yet. In other words, resin is going up. So dwarvenite is definitely cheaper, especially if you do unpainted.

There was no intent to mislead anyone, it was just that some of the information wasn't spelled out as fully as it could have been as an oversight. The dwarvenite is also easier to store, harder to damage, etc. They have also said that there will likely be a price break when you order more sets of dwarvenite at once.

I can certainly understand that some folks are disappointed because things didn't turn out the way they expected, but as far as I can see DF has dealt with everyone in good faith.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

There is an old adage....

You can Please some of the people some of the time...
You can Please some of the all of the time.....
But you can't Please all of the people all of the time.

Sometimes I think there is a group of vocal posters that just cant be Pleased no matter what you do. I wouldn't worry so much about them as they never buy the product anyway.

The problem with the Terrain tiles being manufactured in China is that Inflation has been destroying the exchange rate of the US dollar and that drives the price of the product up. If the Product is shipped by mail internationally it is again affected by the weak dollar. Then on the International shipping of Product the poor buyer gets hit with VAT and the like which is a whole other conversation.

Remember if the Game Tiles are still out of your budget most of us gamers were ecstatic when dry erase mats came out and you can have just as much fun on a grid paper.... The Game Tiles are just a luxury we are hooked on.

LordDust said it pretty well. The accusation that some people can never be pleased and they will never buy anyway is inaccurate. The wording was easy to misinterpret. Proof of of this is obviously in how many people did so. Pointing the finger back at them is kind of offensive and will only chase off customers. Also, I'm one of those people and I'm waiting to order so I guess that blows yur theory keeblerorc

What made the kickstarter cheap was all the stretch goal rewards - .i.e. extra pieces - that you received the more packs you ordered.

The dwarvenite post kickstarter will lack these bonuses do even if they charge the same per pack they actually cost more as you are not receiving the KS freebies.

Stretch goals are always part of a KS. No one really expects DF to continue offering them now, right? :)

Check the survey sent out to all backers and the new prices listed for Resin sets therein. That will show that the new DT pieces ARE reasonably cheaper that the basic resin sets. The fact that DF has not raised the prices on existing stock - as someone else pointed out many companies would do - is a credit to them, not a fault or something that points to false advertising in the KS.

I think we are all talking past each other now.

In summary I think:

1. Dwarvenite will be cheaper than the new resin sets.

2. Dwarvenite sold through the shop will not have the KS freebies and hence will cost more per piece than the KS.

3. What we were told during the KS was correct (Dwarvenite cheaper than resin) and the KS backers are not being ripped off by Dwarvenite pricing in the store as we got a big bunch of freebies as backers.
