Part of what I like about this company and several others involved in this hobby is that there is genuine passion involved. While the money is important for any endeavor, far too many are more about the money than anything else by far.

I love to support companies that are about more than just the bottom line and I'm glad this kickstarter has given me the opportunity to do that with DF. For those unhappy with the direction this ks has gone, don't worry too much. DF will be in a much better position to do more awesome things thanks to this. Also, the points made about widening the audience through lower intro costs and the potential for modification are both of benefit to those who don't need more basic stuff.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

What amazes me is that DF allows and encourages thoughts and suggestions towards competing products. I bought my first DF sets at Gen Con 1997 and have bought sets constantly since then. We use all the sets on a constant basis and none of my players can even imagine playing any sort of DnD adventure without it. "MY" personal opinion is that Hirst is not really any cheaper than DF. My time is also worth money to me, and by the time you buy a mold, learn to use it correctly and buy all the materials, then the paint and the time to paint it you are quickly approacing the cost of DF. I barely have enough time to paint all the figures we need as adventures constantly change. My group has been playing monthly since 1996, it gets harder and harder to come up with new and unique ideas. These new tiles will give me like others chance to get creative with paint schemes as well.
