Beyond the shadow of a doubt, I'd say "Deluxe Rooms and Passages".

Yep.

It was my first set and there is just SO much you can do with it, frankly. It is exactly what it says it is: Deluxe rooms, and passages. The examples that come with the box really show off how cool the whole thing can be.

I for one am asking Santa for a set of the new floor tiles and another DR&P set, frankly. (oh and a couple of blisters of furniture, too)

In Terms of Pure Usefulness, I Have to Agree with Dungeon Delver... That Having been Said, the W.E. sets are VERY Useful as well, because they offer some great "Specialty" pieces to dress up the Dungeon... In any Event, if someone where to read this post and use it as a Guide for an Initial Purchase I Would Have to Caution that, (In my Less than Humble Opinion), they would need to Buy a Couple of Sets to get started as no one set really gets you ready to Game...

Another vote for cavern set. Every game ends up in a dark cave eventually...

True, but the cavern and cavernous passages are the least flexible at current of the sets. They don't work well on anything that is not designed for DF while the rooms usually work for most maps.

It would work for that if you have multiple sets. I just find my gamers prefer the quickness of just drawing out the roads and such on the battlemat. We use DF about 10-20% of the time anymore.

I Have Two Sets... I Think that is Six Floors... And They work pretty Nicely if I Do not care about Corners, Bends etc... I Like that they stand up above the level of the Table, as though the Roads were "Elevated" (Like the Old Roman Roads)... And Of Course I Have no "Issues" with just Mapping roads on the Battle Mat as well... But I Like the texture a lot...
