TOPIC: Marketplace miniatures?

Does anyone know where I can get some "stand-alone" miniatures of baskets/bushels, crates of food and/or other market-place items?

I would really like to find some either in metal or resin -if at all possible.

I already have the Grend el marketplace setup but would really like some more individual items as well, so I may place them throughout a setup as required.

Thanks again.

Miniature Building Authority makes pre-painted resin terrain for gaming. What you want is from their Eurovillage Series III: 10145 - Medieval Barrels & Crates.

www.miniaturebuilding.com

Find out if your local game store carries it (the website has a list of retailers). If not, you can find them on the web.

MBA also has resin-cast market stalls (tables with goods and small awnings).
Mega Miniatures makes a Travelling Salesman and Cart, and their Bookshelves might do for a vendor in a pinch.

I know somebody actually makes a set of baskets with foodstuffs, but I can't remember who it is...

Generic sacks might be piled around a merchant selling grain. Jars, pots, bottles, jugs, and urns are good for merchants selling spirits, milk, potions, and other liquids.

I too am on the lookout for foodstuffs, whether market or kitchen based, and would be grateful for any referrals or suggestions.

Also check out the Old Crow website: www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/ainsty/a2644.jpg and www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/aitrader.htm

I picked up a bunch of this stuff before Aintsy sold shop, lock, stock, and barrel to Old Crow. Excellent pieces just waiting to be painted.

Also also, (ha ha) Steve Barber Models has some really excellent stuff: www.sbarber-models.clara.net/main.html Go to the "Market Stall" section and have a look at the loose market items there.

You can pick those up here in the US from RLBPS at: www.rlbps.com/ A bit pricey, but very, very cool.

Awesome suggestions!

Thank you all.

Dante, those Aintsy items will really help as I presently have nothing even vaguely like them.

It was kinda ironic, when I was over at the Steve Barber site I kinda tripped over the Amphitheatre, -(it's hard to miss) and I realized that I spent about 2/3 of the cost just to make the custom one I did a couple of months ago.

Well, at least that first resin project has led to me working on other projects (three environmental accessories sets), so probably not such a bad trade-off after all.

L's "More MBS Accessories" post in Cool Photos includes pix of JRMiniatures' bushels of foodstuffs, stone basins(?) of hay, and groupings of large clay vessels.

If you're interested in quality I would suggest looking at the Lemax line at Michael's. This will not be the cheapest way to acquire a number of trees, but the quality and variety are exceptional IMHO. Also keep in mind that most of this stuff (in stores anyway) appears to be stocked according to the season, so in order to get the entire variety of tree types may take some time. That being said, this is a great time of year to acquire a lot/most of the available varities with summer, autumn and winter trees being available around this time.

Ironically, I was actually in my local store today adding a couple more to my collection.

Rackham Confrontation, Scenery Elements: Kegs 2 includes a barrel of rocks and a bushel of apples (which could probably also be painted as tomatoes or peppers). Just saw it at my FLGS.
