This is a short laundry list of suggestions for new and/or variant stairs to go with the Fantasy Master Maze line.

First, Upper Stairs with the door on the other side. This would allow us to have staircases against a wall (going from left to right) without the door showing, to put two Upper Stairs side-by-side with no door showing, or to put two Upper Stairs side-by-side with doors on either side (indicating a short passage). Please include a standard Lower Stairs piece when you package this one.

Second, passages ending in stairs. That's a passage piece with three walls and the lovely carving from the Wicked Additions Stairs Down piece (but stretching from wall to wall), and a passage piece with two or three walls and a set of stairs going up (stretching from wall to wall). These pieces will allow us to better define the beginning and end of each level in a dungeon. Someone else will have to figure out whether to put "landings" on the stairs going up.

Third, a 2"x4" tile featuring Spiral Stairs Down, to go in front of the Wicked Additions Spiral Stairs. Half of the tile would be clear floor; the other half would feature the carving from the Wicked Additions Stairs Down piece, but curving 90-degrees counter-clockwise from the center-line of the tile so that the stairs appear to go "under" the Spiral Stairs piece. This gives us a continuous spiral staircase that goes higher AND deeper into the dungeon, instead of our adventurers always being at the bottom of the Spiral Stairs.

Fourth, spiral stairs around a central column. I see this on a 4"x4" base, or 6"x6", depending on how big the stairs themselves would be. Again, someone else needs to make decisions about landings to place minis on; the curve makes that kinda complicated. If half the 4"x4" base (floor) were removed, with the central column half on and half off the base, then this piece would accomodate the proposed Spiral Stairs Down piece described above, as well as other specialty floor tiles.

Fifth, and finally (for THIS thread), a set of four pieces: Lower Curved Stairs Left, Upper Curved Stairs Left, Lower Curved Stairs Right, and Upper Curved Stairs Right. These are 1" wide free-standing curved stairways describing a 90-degree arc within a 2"x2" square. I would place a single landing in the middle of each flight -- by adding Pedestals, we can have a total of four landings on a full flight of stairs. Alternatively, the stairs might have no landings, due to complications from the curvature, and we would add Pedestals to have two places for miniatures. The reason for having curves in either direction is that we can put the stairs on either side of a raised surface (see my "Expanded Pedestals" thread) for a "grand foyer" effect, we can put them side by side for a "butterfly" effect [ )( ], or we can mix and match for winding stairs.

Questions? Thoughts? Additions? Alternatives? Glaring flaws in logic/design? Let me know.

I was thinking the other day that we needed a 6" or 4" passage peice with wall to wall stairs. Lots of good ideas here...

Fourth, spiral stairs around a central column.
There is a model from grendel that you may be a good substitute for now.

It has a footprint slightly smaller than two spiral staicases placed together. The scale is very similar as the (Grendel) central staircase has no outer walls.

BTW, I think the above are ALL excellent suggestions.
