I literally have thousands of pics saved from the DF boards to my iPad. But I find myself looking at certain ones again and again. Here is a few of those. Thank you to those members who made such amazing set ups and took such great pics. IO, Law, Tom, Kronos, Endar, Sorn and others whose photos I love but cannot credit as I don't know who took them.

I really like Tom's shot of the guy sitting at the table. To me, it looks like Gary Gygax.

Was that lava bridge shot photoshop or did they actually simulate lava with a light box base for that?

Also where did that great octopus come from? I love the figure being held in its coiled tentacle

Your mention of tentacles brought back this episode from my teaching past...

While teaching marine science to a gifted group of third graders I drew an octopus (octopi if you prefer), pointed to it's tentacles and asked if anyone knew what they were called and what they were used for.

A student raised his hand and said "Those are his testicles and he uses them to catch crabs".

I nearly died from mirth!

Cool! Great choice of images, Arcarius2001! And I'm honored that one of mine is among them. :)
We should all save one image from every setup that we really like in 2013 and at the end of the year post them in a special thread. That would be awesome.

What do you think guys? :)

Kronos, that sounds like a great idea! Since it was yours, why don't you start us off on a new thread with your selection?

jgardner44, the lava bridge shot was done on a light box but I also believe some editing effects were also added. This pic was from one of the early DF forum contests (if I remember correctly.)

As for the octopus/kraken, you will have to hope Endar answers your question since that is his setup and photo. That is such a cool one, one of my all time favorites.

I have gone back through the forums and looked at all the pics from 2012. I have narrowed my choice down to three pics. I will post my choice in January. Man, there are some great pics that were posted!

I searched for Endar's picture thread. The octopus was one item in a sea-themed pack he picked up in the toy aisle at the grocery store a couple of years prior to posting. So no help there finding it -- but I'm going to start paying more attention to grocery store and pharmacy toy aisles!

Great idea! I'm going to do the same. I never get tired of looking at pics of amazing builds. It will be fun to see everyone's favorites.
