I put together a slightly larger HS setup, with some more floor pieces that I picked up as singles. I wanted to do some close-up shots that show off the wonderful "glowing" effect created by the paint job on the lava. It's just a very glossy paint, with maybe a little bit of translucent sheen on top.
But the bright yellow and darker orange go together very effectively, it really looks like glowing hot lava.

Enjoy!

Awesome, again thanks for posting pictures.

a little while ago I said I was around 50/50 about getting the hell scape series. I have some of the Dwarven forge Sci fi stuff and plan on getting more Sci Fi in the near future. But 'L' keeps posting images of this really cool Hell Scape stuff and well at this point I'm about 90% sure I'm ordering a bunch of it this next week while it's still on sale.

The only reason I wouldn't order it is because Dwarven forge pieces are very expensive and I can't afford some of this set and some of that set. I need everything to work together. and based on my interests, the sci fi seemed like the best line to collect in mass. but this Hell scape world looks like it can blend in really well with the sci fi line. In my mind I'm picturing a table covered with about 1/3 with the helscape terrain and the rest with the sci fi line.

I'm not a role player but I'm big time into miniatures and table top war gaming, both small scale skirmishing (2-30 miniatures) and larger tactical style miniatures games (up to several hundred figures on a side) 28mm is my preference. and I keep thinking of the games and game systems I could play with a combo of Hell scape and Sci fi.

sorry for my ramblings back on topic. L, I really do like looking at your pictures of the hellscape line, when I buy this line I'm blaming you.

Heh heh... glad I could "help."

Hellscape is the first DF setting since the basic dungeon stuff that seems ideally suited to several different types of locations to me. DoE and MBS and ROTA and even Caverns all seem like they're going to be one type of place. But Hellscape could be an extraplanar Hellscape, as its name and DoE affiliation indicate, but it could also be a more basic volcanic environment, or it could be a sci-fi set, the surface of an alien world.

I could, of course, try to convince you that the basic caverns would also be great Sci-Fi sets, but I understand your desire to keep things simple....

(wait till you see the pics I'm going to take of the Sci-Fi bridges and platforms OVER the Hellscape setup....)

I do like them too. I keep looking looking at them and maybe some day I'll pick up a set or two.
