Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.

Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,

and they're always glad you came.

You wanna be where you can see,

our troubles are all the same

You wanna be where everybody knows

Your name.

You wanna go where people know,

people are all the same,

You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

I had some in progress photos, but unfortunately they mistakenly got erased. They weren’t really that much though; seeing the conversion was fairly simple. The wood flooring is painted doll house stock and the windows were cannibalized from one the Armorcast stone buildings. An unfortunate sacrifice seeing they are no longer in production, but here I think the windows will go to a more useful use.

This is the main setup using the converted pieces. There are a few other good combinations as well.

Mike!

I'm not sure whether I want to laugh or cry!
DAY-um, but that is a GREAT conversion and setup.
The floors are great, the window-walls fantastic.
The scullery maid with the broom in the back room, the brunette in the blue dress and white apron?
Doesn't she look like Kirstie Alley in a BAD mood?
Now all you need is a replacement sign for the Green Griffon; "Cheers"; especially if someone can do a screen capture and get the font right!

Great job, Mike!

See ya!

Fantastic! I love recognizing the little tavern customers -- I've been using 90% the same figures (which I suppose is a no-brainer since half of them are called "Tavern Customers" practically...)

I love the band setup...

The custom job is great, too -- I tried something vaguely similar with flooring, but I just made a 2x4 section of wood floor to lay over the appropriate space. I didn't make it permanent, and I didn't make it small and plentiful enough to be as modular as DF itself... yours is a MUCH better solution!

And I was checking to see if you'd include the rarely-heard, only-aired-once lyrics to the Cheers song -- the one they played at, like, the 200th episode:

"All those night when you've got no lights,
The check is in the mail;
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail;
And your third fiance didn't show;

--- CHORUS ---

Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead;
The morning's looking bright;
And your shrink ran off to Europe,
And didn't even write;
And your husband wants to be a girl --
be glad there's one place in the world,
CHORUS"

NICE!

From now on, when I want to support my position that DF should make more doors, walls with windows, fireplaces and ovens, and elevated platforms, I'll just reference this thread.

Very nice indeed. Great work on the custom pieces. I especially like the cask set into the wall.

So, which one of those figures is Norm?

That looks pretty incredible. I wish I had half of your accessories. It is really a shame that armorcast doesn't make their fantasy stuff anymore.

Very, very nice indeed! That's a rolicking tavern, all right. Ah, the Green Griffin, that brings back memories of the Grendel scenery. You've done a really great job on expanding on the theme.

Do they served Mountain Dew there?

:D

Scream! I want your stuff! ;)

What an excellent setup.

What first caught my eye were: the windows, the wooden floor, the dragon ale mounted to the wall, the curtain into the next room, the fireplace, the stove, everything! Wow!

What great stuff and a great mind behind the setup.

Thank you for sharing!

Sweet! I love some of the conversions you have there. Particularly the "mysterious" figure seated at the corner table. I've got a TON--I'm not kidding--of tavern related stuff, A couple of half-painted Grendel sets, and over 100 scenery bits that I've collected over the past 26 years. I really, really, really need to get this stuff painted up! Excellent job, IO!
