If they do offer a mini line, I would prefer that they were something unique that isn't offered my another mini line somewhere else. If they were the same ol same ol that I can find at three different miniature companies (even if I have to paint them) I would prefer unique terrain elements instead. I love all the Dwarven Forge stuff, but lets keep these pieces something of high quality I can't find anywhere else.

Currently designing modular elven city, modular sewers, dwarven ruins, custom cavern elements, ice caverns, and towers.

I would love to see the following sets in the future...
Ice caverns expansion set 2
Hellscape expansion set 2 (lava lake, rivers, lava falls)
Cavernous Rivers expansion waterfall

Zargon, where did you find that bottom art piece? Very cool. I would like to know the full name of the artist (if you happen to know). Thanks!

Hi Arcarius,
That particular picture came from artist Brad Moore as you'll agree, he is very talented.

OK, I'll be the dissenting opinion...

While the DF mini line does fit VERY well with the DF environment (especially size wise), there is just no way I am going to buy DF minis at their price point when I could buy (and already have thousands) of WOTC minis.

Would much rather see new, small additions to other terrain sets (a library set?) then another mini offering.

I think what I'm reading here is that Dwarven Forge is somewhat a victim of it's own success. While I certainly agree with both of you, I'll just put out another idea that might please everyone. In that is this; if you want to make monster minis why not consider releasing your terrain pieces with your miniature line as part of the set?
You can still keep your ancillary miniatures as separate sets available only at an additional cost above the value of a terrain set. In fact it would seem that you are doing this already not in the form of monster npc pieces, but rather in the form of the building accessories available within and without the relevant terrain set.
But now focusing on the monster npc, your miniature line and terrain line can at your option follow a relevant 'dungeon' piece. Or in the case of the lizardfolk, a 'swamp' piece. The fans who are cheering for new lizard men get what they want, the fans who are waiting for another fine terrain piece get what they want, and everyone is happy. Or at least we hope. :-)

Also, yes small additions to existing terrain sets, like a library accessory would be blissfully exciting.

P.S. here is an amusing picture (if you're familiar with mtg) for everyone who mentioned a toad or frog in this topic;

I've loved just about everything DF has done, so let me say this: if new Lizard men means a delay in getting a new set out into the world, I can live without a new set of minis. If that isn't really the case, more minis = more fun!

And I second Zargon's idea of having the minis be a part of a set- even if not packaged in, maybe as a permanent "buy three, get the minis free" sort of thing (like the pre-order bonus for the Woodland/Woodland Acessories sets).

I do love the DF lizardmen they are some of my fave miniatures. But saying that, minis are very plentiful from other companies and i would prefer DF concentrate on terrain. or just make one off special pieces like the ice serpent.

I have always been on the lookout for some lovely tentacles that pop up out of the water though.

If it comes down to miniatures vs accessories then I will always side with the accessories. I have more miniatures than I will ever need. We
really need a proper DF furniture set.

I think that Stefan has shown us that he can create a unique spin on a classic subject -- specifically, the wonderful lizardmen-rising-from-the-water figures that people still ask him to bring back.

I agree with Jackattack about the lizardmen rising from the water. I loved those! What I liked about that set the most was how it integrated into the Dwarven Forge lake/river sets in a unique way that other miniatures out there did not.

The ice dragon promo in the ice caverns set was very beautiful as well. I'm not sure I could have found many pieces like that anywhere else.

Thanks for your feedback everyone...Awesome suggestions! I just want everyone to know, making the miniatures will in no way interfere's with us making terrain...especially since Sandra Garrity has been our main maker of figures but is not our main maker of terrain...except of course for the lovely Woodland Set of which she also did furniture for....

and Yes! the plan is always to make miniatures that would match terrain that we make....so...yes, we plan to make some sort of terrain to match the lizard folks...the figures will always be an "extra" to compliment what our main focus is, and that is to make awesome Terrain...so don't worry, we don't plan to lose our focus....anyway, way before
any of these Lizard folk come out, we got some great terrain coming towards the end of this year which will blow you all away!

Keep the suggestions coming!

and no fear, no fear!
