Question About Posting Pics 2 Months ago
There's probably an obvious answer to this, but I'm not seeing it. I've posted pictures on the forum before, but they always appear at the end of the thread, after the text. I'm wondering how I post pictures interspersed with text (i.e. a few sentences, then a picture, then a few more sentence)?

I've seen many people do this on the forum, so I figured someone would have a quick answer. Thanks in advance!

If you link to an image hosted on another site then you can easily intersperse the images the first time you're writing the post.

However, if you are uploading them then what I do is simply type my message and select my images for upload the first time, and then edit the post to copy and paste the image tags/code where I want them in the thread. It's a bit of a 2-step pain but it's not too bad.

Hope to see some good pics soon! ;-)

I do it the other way around.

I put in a line of intro or placeholder text, and add the pictures. Then I edit my post and place the new text between the image tags.

But the basic answer is -- edit your post after uploading the pictures.

I do it like jack... works for me. I tend to post the pics, and then throw in a brief message between each pic after I have added them.

Yeah, I tend to do things different than everyone else... my wife is always pointing that fact out. ;-)

Thanks jchunick, jackattack, and JasonYoung!!! I knew I'd find a quick answer on the forum. Before I post all my recent setup pics, I'll try a quick test in this thread.

Once again Feymous, I think you'll soon show us all in the "cool photos" section that your setups are in a class of their own! Sweet!

You figured it out already but the way I position images at the right place is to put the cursor where I want my image to be within the text and then click the related "imgX" button.

I also have a question about posting pics. Ive tried a couple times and it keeps saying my attachment is to large. How do you guys post pics without this happening?

@jimibones83

You will need to resample the image first using software. I work with Photoshop professionally, so that's my tool of choice, but there are a lot of good ones out there that can make the process really easy where you can literally drag and drop your image files onto an icon on your desktop and the program will resize/resample them all for you.

Here's one I googled... I've never used it before but it's the style of app I was referring to: www.fotosizer.com/

I know a lot of non-technical people use IrfranView which apparently can batch resize, but if you're not using it already as an image viewer then I wouldn't bother with something like that as it does way more than just resize images.

Btw, I usually resize my images to 800 pixels wide.

Apple's standard Preview for image files has a resizing function.

I think Windiws' standard picture viewer may also have that ability, but it's been a long time so I'm not sure of that.

500KB, and 1650x1650 pixels max.
