Advice on how many Cavern Chasm Sets to buy 1 Year ago
I'm trying to decide how many Cavern Chasm sets I should buy. Could someone give me some advice on what I could build with 1,2,3, or 4 sets of this? If anybody has a few minutes to post a pictures of what you can build with different number of sets, I'd be thrilled!

Thank you in advance.

Currently designing modular elven city, modular sewers, dwarven ruins, custom cavern elements, ice caverns, and towers.

I would love to see the following sets in the future...
Ice caverns expansion set 2
Hellscape expansion set 2 (lava lake, rivers, lava falls)
Cavernous Rivers expansion waterfall

I use the simple graphics in Word to make overhead views of the tiles in a set, then shuffle them around to see what I can make with however many sets. There's also a tilemapper program, but I don't know if it has chasms.

Sorry I don't have a better answer ready "off the shelf".

I found that until I had about 3+ sets of the basic cavern and cavern corridor sets that I would encounter problems with big builds...
I also suggest getting a cavernous river set as that adds some great variety to the setups possible by using the free standing walls, even if you do not use the river pieces themselves..

I have 2 Caverns, 1 Cavernous Passages, 1 Cavernous River and Walls, 1 Cavernous Chasm, and Cavernous Lake and Lake Expansion. I can make some pretty cool setups with those. I think I will eventually add another River and Walls plus blank lake tiles.

For Chasms, I think one or two will get you by. Unless you really need lots of stone bridges and stalagmites.

For really great Caverns setups, go peruse some of Law's posts. He has done some really beautiful work with those sets. That will give you ideas better than anything else.

Similar to Arcarius2001, I have 3 Caverns, 2 Cavernous Passages, 2 Cavernous River and Walls, 1 Cavernous Chasm, 1 Cavernous Lake and 1 Lake Expansion. I found the ratio I have of different cavern pieces allows me quite a lot of flexibility in my setups. Perhaps I could use a 2nd chasm Set but that would probably be to increase the aesthetic appearance of multi-level setups. Indeed, look back at Law's magnificient setups such as:
