Just a question for the group...

Is anyone else planning on passing their Dwarven Forge collections to their children when they grow older? It struck me recently that, because the DF pieces are such high quality and so durable, they can be used not just for years, but for GENERATIONS.

Something to ponder, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has thought of doing this.

thanks,

Yukon

My sons have to wait to have mine after I am dead.
I plan to use them until them.
They can buy their own in the mean time.

I Think that my Daughter Would Do Nasty Things to my Remains Were I To Even Consider Not Willing the Stuff to Her... Course That Would not Matter Much to me at that Point... But Really I Have No Good Reason Not to Give them To Her When I Kick... Then Again, She Is Not a Teen Yet... Hmmm....<Thinking>.... Could That Be The Means For Keeping the Rascal in Line When She Hits Her First Batch of Hormones?

Hey, I may be the old man of the group here but I don't consider it an air loom. My wife can sell it off on Ebay when I am dead to help support herself.

Oddly enough, my daughter hasn't shown an interest in it! She enjoys playing with dice a whole lot more.

How old is she? I'm guessing under 3. Am I close?

Once she gets to Lego-age, she'll be hooked.

Yep! She's two-and-a-half now. (I hate that whole "months" thing once they're past one year. Gee, am I 426 months old?! :) )

I figure I'll get her a few basic pieces if she shows an interest, y'know?

I do not remember being explained to in college why, but the entire medical and psychological communities do it up to 30 months (2.5yo).
Maybe it is because children are developing so fast in this period, the professionals need to do it month by month.
Something to think about.

My daugher is 20 and has no interest in D&D. Not her fault, she was raised by her mother the last 14 years or so.

My Daughter (7), Likes to Play with Dice a lot as well, and I am Proud to say Uses the Correct Casual Nomenclature such as "D4", "D6", "D10" Etc...

But She is Suspiciously and Easily Distracted by My Little Pony and Similar...<Smirk>... I Do not Know if she will Ultimately be a Gamer or Not, But She will at least have a Basic Gamers Education...

Probably not. I may just sell it off in the coming years to fund my next hobby. Sometimes I see myself as Toad! The ecentric fellow from Wind and the Willows who just flits from one interest to the next.... Hopfully not too much like that but long story short these sets may be gone by that time....
