Here's the arena I built for the beginning of my Wilderlands game.

Updated the photos with image tags...

Sorry, no Mac-Fu proficiency here ...

But I really like the layout and the very clever use of the cavernous edges as steps !!

Nice job !!

I really like the setup. I do wish the photos were bigger, though.

Again, can't help with the photos, but I do wish they were bigger -- from what we can see, it looks amazing! Really innovative use of the ledge pieces, and a fantastic looking layout.

Ah, so much easier to see now!

Here are some of the things I love about this arrangement:

1. The use of the ledge pieces, obviously. Nuff said. Stefan gets a ton of credit here -- we can now do these little "excavated pit" setups and they look stunning.

2. The WK throne in front of the demon arch, with the MBS railings. Fantastic setup for a regal observation booth for the carnage.

3. The chairs and DF tavern bar in the lower right corner, another creative setup that looks appropriate and cool. It's like a food court or the refreshment stand at a movie theater -- get your mead and watch the bloodshed. Love it up on the little raised area, just looks great.

4. The use of the flaming cauldrons from the DoE. Great atmosphere.

One thing that struck me as odd: the bed. Who, exactly, sleeps here? It's such a civilized bed, yet no privacy or security for whoever uses it. What's the story there, I wonder...

I described the beds as middle eastern/egyptian chase lounges, covered in elaborate pillows more meant for laying out and enjoying wine and the bloodsport from a reclined position. You'll notice the non "VIP" areas only have wooden benches, and the more influential and important NPCs paid the extra dough to enjoy the luxury of the comfortable private boxes. I also described the corner areas as being covered by large colorful tents, but the fighting pit is open air.

Now if Stefan would only give us a set of "mediterranean/middle eastern" furniture I would pounce on it like a tiger...

Thanks Stefan.

The Sci-Fi stuff lends itself so well to the flavor of the Wilderlands. There are so many ancient ruins, and the Sci-Fi stuff is so versatile it can accomplish a variety of flavors. We've used it for Kelnoran ruins and ancient bunkers from before the Uttermost War. My only complaint is the silver in the paint job is a little too bright, but as we handle them more and more the luster has been dulled down and they look awesome.

Our game room costs us about a hundred bucks a month, but IMO it's soooo worth it. Having all of your beautiful creations laid out before me gives me an awesome feeling. Sort of like a kid at Christmas, but combined with the limitless power of a god.

Thanks for that.

Thank you for your compliments Dude, You do appear as at least a demi- god in the straight on picture of you sitting before your set-up, he,he,he...that is you isn't it? I have printed it to show my mother. Glad you took so many pictures and thanks for sharing/posting with all of us. I get unlimited satisfaction out of seeing how my little resin babies get adopted and raised in various parts of the world......

I forgot to mention, but as my OCD usually dictates, the whole lower area was totally playable and planned out. Including the cages for wild beasts, cells for the characters/NPCs, a kitchen and several passages that lead deeper below the arena. I described the pool as having several waterways attached to it, each leading to cages/cells a level lower.

The one picture is of BlairGB DMing, not me. He looks pretty sinister back there, eh? I don't think there's any pictures of me in the D&D photos, as I'm usually the tourist with the camera, documenting our characters' wild adventures in Blair's game. I always forget to take pictures when I DM, but one of the players is a way better photographer than me, so it usually works out. I'll post his pictures of this set-up when he posts them.

Don't worry, your resin babies have a good home. They get plenty of attention and adoration, although they do occasionally get dropped(usually by me).
