So far I painted all my stalagmites, the Cerberus and encounter 1.

I’m not sure if I have the peeling effect or just forgot to paint same places?
I find some small white spots in my self-painted tiles.
Does all colors are peeled from your tiles down to the yellow dwarvenite?

I use thicker acrylic paints, therefore I need just one layer of white and 1 + 1/2 layer of black (only spots where the light bleeds through) get a second layer.

@ zenako I have been painting hellscape pretty much non stop-since it hit the store and arrived at my house. I have been painting for several hours on my days off and a couple after work most days. Fortunately, I have no life.

@ NiandoBG That sounds exactly what I am talking about. 2 pieces that were stored touching each other would have a peeled spot at the point of contact, one piece would have paint removed down to the dwarvenite and the other would have a white spot (the back of the paint layers) stuck to the other piece. An easy way to see if it's down to the dwarvenite is to put the piece on a light panel, you'll have a bright yellow spot on the piece where it's peeled off.
It's not too noticeable on the peeled piece, which is why it took me awhile to realize I had a problem. At first I thought I was picking up dried paint flakes from the desk and scrubbed it, and the took a closer look when it happened again. I had to touch up almost every piece (without the white, a tiny spot is no big deal).

I'm currently doing the white dungeon, but corona is in our facility. I'm almost done but it's been so crazy I haven't had much energy for painting the last few weeks.

i finally got around to painting the lava bits, while i'm mostly against LEDs on the gaming terrain, i did add a couple to my pieces. i think the lights distract and i don't think we should be using disposable batteries but after painting them a friend gave me a box of LED tea candles hoping i would find a use other than a landfill for them. these were cheapo kind and did not even flicker but i had some flickering LEDs lying around so i soldered them on to give a more interesting effect

since the lighting is changing between picture and the pictures are separated, i'll put two corners side by side, one with lights one without, there are slight differences in the painting

possible alternative to light trays, but they only seem to flash and i'm not sure if they are thin enough to fit under the pieces?

They are thin enough to fit under the tile. If you lift the tile about 1/4 inch there will be less of a white spot. They can be adjusted not to flash.





The first set of adapters I made I used the thin LEDs I switched over to the remote control LEDs for riser blocks.



I use one inch foam risers for the remote controlled LEDs
