Weird, never could get picture to come up in Photobucket.
Isn't it a day early for all the family food fight photos being loaded?

I used a sponge to paint the base because some of you don't like flock. I will flock later.

I used lava red to cover the green.
I think that the school bush yellow will highlight the the green as well as it does the red.

Photobucket is slow so no photo ;)

I did not use my GW leaves.
The plastic leaves might make good ivy. I will see if I can find them this afternoon and see how well boiling water works.

I always look forward to Williams post.

Here is a picture of the two weir trees from CMoN's A Song of Ice and Fire KS.
One, I had done quite a while ago, now I'm matching the other one and six smaller trees from same KS.

The darker color you see is two base coats of Pokorny, Shallow Water Seaweed Green and then an ample dry brush of Pokorny, Moss Green on the other tree. It's that simple and paint "we" all should have. The second coat was needed to cover the red plastic leaf clusters better. I also did two coats on the smaller trees, because the light green plastic leaves with only one coat, made it have a different base tone. So two base-coats on each of the different colored trees. I think I did some small green ink (Army Painter) splotches originally in the deeper areas. I'll have to see how these go when I do the dry brush. :?:

Anyway, here are the two trees mentioned. I'll post more pictures of the trunks and small trees when done. ;)

I had an idea right before I was done painting the leaf clusters on the sprues, but that was too late to try it out.
I like the look of the GW Citadel Wood leaves, but wish there were a little curve to them. Maybe not as much as the CMoN ones shown above, but similar.
The plastic is fairly hard and would break without softening first. I tried some very hot tap water on some of the branches and it didn't do anything. I could have tried boiling water but only wanted a quick bend or two, so I use flame... candle, it worked but be short-n-quick. The plastic will blacken a tiny bit too.
Anyway, my thought was to boil water put a leaf cluster in before painting and use two spoons (in the water, while boiling) to create a slight bowl shape. The drawback is painting a bunch of leaf clusters individually. I found doing it on the rack of them, much easier. So, maybe disconnect all but two connections and try the spoon thing on the sprue?
That was my idea to "un-flatten" the leaves for these, but was too late to try. ;)

I also wish some of them had a bit more depth. So I layered a few (wish there were a lot more clusters per tree) on one another to try and break up some of the reoccurring leaf clusters and give some depth.

Wish I had the patience to do another set in fall colors, maybe in the next decade. ;)

Nope, those are the trees from CMoN's, A Song of Ice and Fire KS. They said exclusive, but CMoN should just sell them in web store. The set of 3 are going for $50.00+ on eBay. The Larger Weir tree is the same. I got two of each set in KS and wish I had one set more of each.
