Re: Prediction for Hightown

Lowtown had a lot more stuff in it I didn't know I needed, perhaps Hightown will be similar. What do we know so far is in Hightown besides Ashlar floors/walls? What else might they add to Hightown? - Double-high cathedral windows - fancy balconies - New, fancy floors (mosaic) - Interior fixtures fo...

Re: Prediction for Hightown

I would not be surprised to see catacombs and/or sewers revisited in Hightown. Lowtown had the new MBS-style tiles, and I could see Hightown using catacombs revisited to fill that niche. And it wouldn't take much to add some fun extra bits to sewers. Plus, Hightown needs more practical, playable spa...

Re: Was Lowtown the first true "extension" we've ever gotten?

I think KS8 easily will supplant KS3 for me. For exteriors, it makes it much easier to go vertical, really opening up the playable space. It does the same and more for interiors, finally letting me do interior builds without pulling out Warlock tiles. And in terms of aesthetics, it looks do much mor...

Re: KS3 City builder fans -- how will you be using Lowtown?

I built myself a large, 2x3 terrain tray, as my gaming table is also our dining table, and 2x3 is about what fits comfortably. I have enough CBS to fill it with a fairly dense city build, and so my goal for this KS is to get enough in my initial buy to do the same with KS8, plus a bit of my existing...

Re: Cobblestone battleboards worth it?

In retrospect, I kind of wish they had down dirt instead of cobblestone battleboards - I think it would look better in most of their districts, aside from dockside (but I plan to do my version of dockside using CBS streets anyway).

Re: Share your pledge

I'm in for a little over 2k - my base is the double landmark (wizard's townhouse and warehouse) and then filling out with enough to build all the other landmarks except the inn, and do a version of most of the districts by combining with the fieldstone I already own. Not as big as a lot of the pledg...

Re: KS3 City builder fans -- how will you be using Lowtown?

I was just thinking that it is too bad that there aren't at least a few ruined roof pieces with this KS. At least the docks wall pack comes with some ramshackle pieces. To answer the OP, I will likely focus mostly on my new toys, with a bit of the old fieldstone worked in. I too am mostly getting pa...

Cobblestone battleboards worth it?

As I work out my pledge, I am trying to figure out whether I should get some of these. I got the mountain ones from Wildlands and haven't used them much, but these have the sculpted surface, making them more appealing. I already have a fair amount of imperial streets from KS3. Can I make the new bui...

Re: Lowtown Postmortem

Posting mine as ups and downs UP: Professionalism. You guys were really ready to go from Day 1, with tons of videos and a functioning pledge manager. Presentation was polished and I felt like I understood the product exactly. You guys really nailed it, which allowed you to run a shorter KS than in t...

Re: Lowtown MVPs?

Caveat to my post above: those are what I think right now. But it is only after I play with them for awhile that I figure out my hidden stars for each KS. For example, for me one gem from WL turned out to be the simple pine trees, because they let me completely transform all the other pieces into a ...
