I don't think their is any disagreement from me that there are people who have done heinous horrific things and carry the responsibility for their acts. I was giving a perspective on playing a villain, meaning that people are complex and that it is reasonable for a villain to have occasional lapses ...

It is as hard to play truly evil as it is to play truly good. They are such malleable concepts. On top of that good characters are complex, motives are sometimes good sometimes evil. I had the exact same issue with my HotF, one of my swamp tree toppers (cypress) came broken. I find it hard to imagine it broke once it was packed.
