Re: OK, I admit it -- I'm confused

For many outfits that overlap KS, the backer investment is a LOT smaller each time. A few hundred dollars. For DF the average backer is over $1000 dollars and many a LOT higher than that. It would be natural to have some trepidation about tossing too much money into the bucket before the company can...

Re: Does backing this Kickstarter hurt Dwarven Forge in the long run?

I largely agree with many of your points. I will point out that pretty all goods now being sold have suffered from myriad sources of inflation this past year and what used to cost X is now X+% something. I see that every time I go shopping or out dining. Most of us had gotten used to a lot of somewh...

Re: Love the Terrain Videos in the Recent Updates

I do have to agree that those videos do highlight some of the potential uses for the Dice Stands as terrain. They also show how big some of the dice stands, notably the Hero ones really are. Much more a center piece of a setting than a side decoration for flavor.

Re: OK, I admit it -- I'm confused

We can never forget that a large part of the creative team at DF are full-blown artists at heart and want to work on stuff that inspires or motivates them. Some of that clearly comes across in those developing XYZ video series. I strongly suspect that the sculptors would not have been enthusiastic a...

Re: When did this happen?

On the goal of bringing in really new backers of DF via the KS gateway, this one is not doing so well. About 5% of the backers are new to KS. The only KS DF ran that had a lower percentage of new to KS backers was Hellscape which a little over 3% new folks. Back in the Dungeon of Doom days, close to...

Re: OK, I admit it -- I'm confused

Given the apparent complexity of many of those designs, I would expect many of them to require multiple parts to be cast and then joined after molding. You are right that the larger cost molds often have multiple cavities in them for either multiple of the same part or portions of a larger casting. ...

Re: Is Analog Dead? - Trackers today

I also find it totally unbelievable that the dice holders would be on the table as dice holders. As terrain, sure, and the tracker pillars might also make it to the table. For people who have Wyrmwood dice storage, does anyone use them at the table to hold dice, or just transport them? Never bought...

Re: Poll: What are your current intentions for Reliquaries with what you've seen so far?

There are some different Mahogany available and the old main source is considered endangered, but some other species are not. https://www.fws.gov/international/plants/mahogany.html I suspect the wood DF will be using falls into the Appendix 2 classification which would be fine and whomever they spok...

Name of the KS - Reliquaries

Ok, I was just thinking about the name of the KS - Reliquaries and how that might be perceived. Generally, the term is used for Holy Relics. Per Merriam- Webster - a container or shrine in which sacred relics are kept . So what do you think of when you see this KS name? Would you EVER search for tha...

Re: Bold Predictions?

Did a quick check to see how the average backing per day changes over the duration of a KS. So far it looks like if folks are backing this KS they are dropping down about the same amount each for each day so far. Other KS have had more pronounced ebb and flow. Note on Caverns Deep that on Day 20 the...
