Re: Too tiny treasures and tiny things

Blister pack is a good idea I've seen used. Some have in the past expressed concern about shiny plastic. The solution is to hit with a bit of matte first, like modge-podge or another sealer if it bothers you. Poster tack of any kind works great as long as it isn't a terrible brand. You can also use ...

Re: Background screens

Model train companies make many of these. Diorama suppliers make small ones. You can also get them made custom by several companies. You could even take photos and make your own at a print shop.

Re: Stefan's new kickstarter

I honestly know next to nothing about Satine, I think I have seen her in passing a few times at the con the last two times, but I have never interacted with her. I know she has worked in the gaming industry and been involved in some web content related to my hobbies, but I have to confess I view ver...

Re: Clear Dwarvenite and Yellowing

I came across this and it got me thinking: https://www.phtech.ca/en/expert-advices/does-pvc-ends-up-yellowing.html Is it true that PVC always ends up yellowing? Yes and no! PVC is a mixture of ingredients and there are infinite recipes. One of the main and most expensive ingredients is titanium, an...

Re: Clear Dwarvenite?

What ever unpainted sets are cast in on face value you would expect not to make a difference. The assumption is buyers would paint them. As someone who buys unpainted and then paints myself (for cost reasons) I'll toss in my 2 coppers. Regarding the "clear/translucent" pieces, it does mak...

Re: Gen Con 2019

I've only seen a handful selling off their displays in the past. Maybe they were doing it without advertising it, and thus I didn't really see it. That, and other reasons*, are why I was somewhat surprised that DF sold their displays. Don't get me wrong, I get that it makes sense due to shipping co...

Re: Gen Con 2019 Fan Lunch

Are not we all south of the North pole ;) Is not GenCon held at Lucas Oil Stadium and air-conditioned to Alaskan winter temperatures? The AC cannot keep up with the excited nerd body heat in most of the areas at peak times. You also have to venture outside if you want food that doesn't attempt to k...

Re: Gen Con 2019

Companies that have to haul their stuff back and forth often sell off the non-custom parts of displays to avoid shipping costs each year. Local storage eliminates that though. Speaking of local, I should check into just how far the DF warehouse is from me... depending on the drive it might be worth ...
