Re: So expensive :(
They really aren’t ceding their market at all and certainly not to Archon. I think their new pre painted stuff at that price is a steal, but the D&L stuff feels and looks super cheap and the sizing is all over the place. You also have to assemble it and many people hate the clip system so much ...

Re: So expensive :(
Kind of like some other companies that make products for a certain segment of the population. Wyrmwood jumps to mind. Sure you can buy a totally functional dice tray for less than $10 if that is all you want, but you can buy one made from beautifully finished hard wood that will run you 10X that am...

Re: So expensive :(
Bringing this around to Starforged -- I think the VALUE of these pieces is immensely high. First, there's very little bling here. Even pieces like the command console can be used to build mutiple things. The door can be a viewscreen, the pipes can be engines, the engines can be part of a gun turret...

Re: So expensive :(
It's very expensive and the VAST majority of TTRPG campaigns are in a primarily fantasy setting. And many of the ones that are sci-fi are fairly specific (Star Wars, Alien, Star Trek) so it's not as appealing to use generic sets as it is for fantasy. That's not a great combination. I think a lot of ...

Re: Wildlands Reorder Campaign
The question of pricing is inevitable, though I think that Cities Untold: Lowtown is far more culpable than Wildlands. I do think it is reasonable to expect a significant discount when you are paying months in advance - that is pretty standard practice in all businesses. After all, once DF has your ...

Re: Did Lowtown have a rockstar piece?
The water wheel and the thatched roof are the two rockstar pieces for Lowtown, IMO, especially with the fogger for the thatched roof. In retrospect, my rockstar pieces for Wildlands were the pine trees - having enough of them basically allows new biomes. But for standalone, the barge and waterfall h...

Re: KS8 Stretch Goals Options
I just finalized my order. All told, with taxes and shipping, it's costing me almost 3k Canadian, and I don't even qualify for one large stretch goal reward. It feels like a slap in the face. Most KS that I back make me feel appreciated. I'm not writing this to lash out at DF, but just to let them k...

Re: Wildlands Reorder Campaign
This is a thousand times better than the Hunger Games. I have a lot of Wildlands but I expect I will still find a few more things to order.

Re: Triple Landmark Price
One thing I note is that a $45 discount on a roughly $1100-1200 order is not going to sway me much. It'll be a nice little bonus *if* those three landmarks have exactly the right combination of pieces, but that is probably not the case, so I don't see it really factoring into my decision significant...
