Latest batch of acrylic Flight Stands 1 Year ago
Hi everyone!

In the last 5 months, I have made and sold a lot of Flight Stands. With an apparent steady demand, I decided to make some more. This time, I have every size available between 1 and 8 inches: 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7", & 8". Furthermore, I also made 2 inches wide rods of the following even lengths: 2", 4", 6", 8", 10" & 12". I could make those longer because they are much heavier and more stable.

With experience, I have now slightly changed my process of polishing the ends. I first start by paper sanding them flat and even on both ends. Then, I flame polish both ends using a specialized Jeweler`s micro torch fitted with a MAPP and oxygen tank that I just acquired. This process minimizes appearance of bubbles and the flight stands become ultra-shiny! Doing this on all the Stands I have still took me about 50 hours of work. Polishing with a buffing wheel would have required 4 times longer and I would have had only 1 end polished.

Anyway, combined with the fact that I got a super deal on buying that many rods at once, the good news is I can now sell them cheaper! I charge 2$ per rod + $1 per inch (1"=$3, 2"=$4, 3"=$5, 4"=$6, 5"=$7, 6"=$8, 7"=$9 & 8"=$10). You will soon find them on eBay but you can buy them already directly from me. Please remember that any people contacting me directly by email (thi3456errybert4567omeu@gmail.com ; remove silly numbers) will receive a 10% discount on orders over $20. This is my way on saving you and I both the expensive 13% eBay fees. The 2" wide rods turned out to be super expensive due to huge material cost. Anyway, I made a few in case some of you are interested. I charge 4$ per rod + $4 per inch (2"=$12, 4"=$20, 6"=$28, 8"=$36, 10"=$44 & 12"=$52).

Those 2" look really good. When my wife lets me start buying stuff again, :-) I'll have to place an order for a few.

I'm more tempted every time I see these.... What are your shipping costs like? I'm on the west coast of the US.

Hi Shadaraman,

I'm glad you're interested in my flight stands. I live in Montreal, Canada. Shipping costs are precisely what my local Post Office (Canada Post) charges me. The total amount paid depends upon total weight of the items. Here`s an approximation of a shipment to the US using 4" long/1" wide rods for example. For a shipment to the US, it would cost $8 for 4 rods, $11 for 7 rods, $16 for 15 rods and $22 for 22 rods. Shipping to another country than Canada and the US is about 50% more. I hope that helps you decide!

That's completely reasonable. I'll probably be in touch with you once my budget settles out from the Reaper kickstarter. :P
