TOPIC: Stair Base 25
#40424
Stair Base 25 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Lordannilhus gave me an idea in another thread.

DF (or some enterprising modders) could create a clear plastic piece(s) whose bottom is cut to go on top of DF stairs, so that we can put miniatures on stairs as well as landings.

Does anyone know of transparent, stackable(?) cubes or cylinders (not dice) for flying/levitating/falling miniatures? I special ordered some years ago, and I love them, but as a special order they were kinda pricey.

Any other ideas for clear castings to go with DF?

Jack, I think your idea is a good one. It's almost impossible to place a mini on any of the stairs.

I've also been looking for clear plastic stands, of different heights to place "flying" minis.

Does anyone know of a company that makes them?

Hmm, let me see if I can be clearer. (Pun intended!)

The entire piece would be clear plastic, and it would be shaped like a stair piece. By turning it upside down, it will fit flush to an actual stair piece, with a flat surface on top. Where you could place a miniature.

Hopefully, the effect would be that the mini was on the stairs, rather than floating above them!

Hi friends, Litko Aerosystem makes some nice flying bases for miniatures that you might find useful for this:

www.litkoaero.com/products/Flying-Figure-Stands%2C-25mm-round.html

In the section of flying miniature bases there are another ones, hope it helps.

Greetings!

The Litko aerial stands (round and square base) are perfect to put a mini in the air (with another mini beneath it), but I don't think they are stackable. And the need a flat surface to rest on, so won't address the stair issue.

They are still a great find, and some of the other tokens and markers would be great at the gaming table as well.

The french company is also producing a royal stair, a huge one on which you can easily put your minis on each square.

I will also post a photo of something interesting to you jack in the week ^^

I could pretty easily bend some acrylic strips to the shape you're describing on the plastic-bender at the local Tech Shop. However, I'm more inclined to build my own stairs. It's on my list of projects. Right now I use floor pieces and half-floor pieces to build up stairs. It doesn't work very well for passageways, though, since the floors don't always fit inside.

sounds like something we could easily do in a sort of future "advanced builder set"...perhaps If there are some other similar type ideas we could do a bunch and then sell a sort of wierd pack of odd things...for instance, some "invisible adventurers" and "dead monsters" and things like that....
