just have a look on this page

you are on a corridor and you must join a stair that is in the middle of a large square of water with crocodile.
You have got 2 wood boards of 9 meters 80. but the distance between the corridor and the central stair is 10 meters.
how can you do to join without being eat by the crocodile?

see that page to see the pictures:

These are both real cool. Enigmas - Problems We also use the terms Puzzles and Tricks for these sort of challenges.

I did one once with a secret door that opened another door or somthing like that. It was not as neat as your two.

We should move this post about Puzzles & Tricks to "Module/Map Ideas" I think that is where actual game ideas, thoughts and maps should go. This thread is for website ideas.

see ya there.

you are right, but for me it's too late!
we should ask it to the admin
a last one
it is not so cool but it does work well when even!

You have to introduce 4 metal round ( that have 1 of value ) on a square formed by 8 metal rounds (that have 2 of value ) without changing the sum of each side. :?

Well, as much as I like stuff like this, it strikes me as really complicated. My friends and I are just getting into D and D, and I'm looking for some simple riddles or puzzles for them. I'm looking to start a campaign for them, but don't want to place TOO much emphasis on combat. Hence, plenty of locked doors, chests, traps and riddles would allow all players to play a huge role, not just the fighters.
If you guys have any more examples of enigmas or riddles that could be incorporated into games, I'd really like to hear them too!

Thanks,

Alkatchoff,

What are the Average ages of Your Players? The Reason I Ask is that there are Some Great D&D Modules already out there, and as Far as Campaign Stuff Goes most will Fit into a Larger Campaign Setting, but if Most are Young it Can Get Expensive Quick to Purchase all of the "Extras" if Cash is Less of An Issue I Encourage you to Check out Old Copies of Dragon Magazine, (I think there may even be some Compendiums out there somewhere?), And Also White Dwarf (Which has War Hammer Adventures in them but they are Easy to Convert)... Any way I Like Making up my Own Stuff, but it Never Hurts to Look Through Stuff like that for Reference... And I Agree that we Ought to Pick up this Thread Elsewhere....

Well, we are just starting out (all of us). Most players are 20-25, but a couple of our 'veterans' are 30+ (I won't ask) :)

I've been reading White Dwarf for awhile, but i'm slowly moving away from all things GW. The painting is getting to me...

What i'm really looking for are the kind of brain teasers/enigmas/whatever you call them that will make your players pause to think, without making them look blankly at each other for 10 minutes, wondering if everyone is as lost as they are...
Oh, and no math -related ones!

The trick with puzzles is to come up with ones that are challenging, but not so hard that they frustrate the players. This is particularly hard because a riddle whose solution is obvious to one person might be extremely difficult to another. People process information differently.

I like to have moderately difficult puzzles/riddles in my game, but I usually try to provide an alternate means of getting the answer in case the players get stuck.
