Now that Dwarven Forge has a European Distributor (congratulations to all who made that happen, and to all it benefits!), I suggest that we add a new heading under Contests & Official News.

This would be a section for issues, offers, and discussions unique to customers of the ED. When they want to know if their orders have been received, or when they want to know when the next restock arrives and what's in it, when they have comments on cross-border issues, and so on, those posts could go in the new section. For everything else, business as usual.

Why? Because I want them to stay on these forums, rather than split off. The forums are fun partly because there are lots of voices, with different backgrounds and perspectives. While we don't always agree on specifics, it makes for lively posting and keeps all of us more or less on the same page.

So bottom line: new section for Euro-DF stuff, and non-US forum-goers please don't leave.

I agree completely. This forum is great and while it is uber-awesome that there will be a European Distributor (YAAAAY!) the forum for all of us should stay here. :)

I will check with Jeff and Stefan about this. There are still several weeks before the European pages will be available and I'm sure we find something that works.

First thank you very much for bringing DF in Europe.
About your european website, I don't know if the forum you plan will split up the community here or not in 2 parts : Euro and non euro here.
May be you will need a language option for all the pages and the forum.
(french, spanish italian, english, german, dutch ...)
If you need a hand in french let me know.

Here are my Views and Opinions and I welcome other's to state theirs, too.

The "Dwarven Forge Community" has always been strong throughout the years, in good times and bad, beacuse regardless of our country of origin, we have a "Bond" that unites us -- our addiction to "Dwarven Forge"! It's the reason we share ideas and post pictures. I can remember the "connection" I felt to the board members when I first read their unique posts, perspectives, and finding out their country of Origin -- I felt part of a "Global Community", and have been part of it for a very long time because of it.

I know that language would be a factor but that would still be the case for EU Board Members, would it not? How would your board handle all these languages -- English, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, French, etc.???

I think our situation is not unique, for it has been proven, many times over, that when groups of people are "cetegorized", in this case (U.S./E.U.) you will, by it's nature, cause the splintering of the "Globl Community" and it will end up being "that group" vs "this group". Especially for new members, they will ONLY be exposed and get to know one group or the other and won't get the benefit of the "Global Community".

Please reconsider splitting the group up.

Semper Fidelis.

I am from germany and ok... I am very happy about the EU-Desti.... :-)
... but I do not want any splitting because everyone around the world likes DF and so on the strongest part of the community should concentrate on the dwarven forge forum!!! I like it to communicate with everyone, and I do not know from whitch culture someone is... sorry for my bad grammar.... :(

I would like to add my voice to the cry of don't split us up. The community is simply too small and I think we will all lose out a lttle bit if this happens.

Dear all,

I think that english language is a barrier to discuss :(, but not insurmountable :). So is there really a necessity to create a new forum ? not sure for myself........Our community is not a gigantic community, so, i think that split us, will not be a good thing.

Just listen the wisdom voice as Arcarius said about "the big teacher".
