Kenneth seems to know what he's talking about. You had better scrap my ideas involving that "Live Size Maze with super models" idea..... :D

Any "Normal" DM that see and gets to handle this stuff will want it.

It's that "Funky" as the kids say nowadays........ ;)

Nah, super models are too skinny, make them Playboy Bunnies!

If the question was serious and not just a fleeting enthusiasm rush, I am happy to offer a few thoughts.

1- Ensure that you create an easy to remember domain name for the web, and include the link in products.

2 - Cut down on and the number of forums and clarify their purpose. I am an enthusiast, but groaned at the sub categories on the forum menu. Surely you only need one Admin thread for product and company news for starters. As for main forums, I think we need only 6. Fantasy gametalk, fantasy photos and fantasy product suggestions. (layout ideas should be included in the photo section and text should be in gametalk). The same 3 categories go for sci fi ofcourse. A flame pit would make 8 sections in total, all with a clear agenda. The simpler navigation would reassure users that their ideas were well placed and listened to.

3 - With all due respect it is only the moderator(s) of a site that can create a real sense of community. Members can exchange ideas, but as folks disappear for ages due to work etc, only the Mods can set enduring themes and standards of web policing. I would suggest appointing a web deputy to handle the site so that you can get on with the real business of designing, producing and distributing products.

4 - I am sure that most users here are like me in that they post a bit when on a Master Maze fad and then struggle to find the time again for a while. If you truly want to create a community of daily or weekly visitors here there has to be som degree of official involvement. Indeed, there is not a single admin response to this thread thus far which makes me, and no doubt others, question the validity of the original question. (We know that it`s because you are working on Master Maze stuff but we`ll give you stress anyway hehe). Perhaps the suggested web deputy would provide just such an official input while you guys get on with the real work.

5 - I also have a couple of quirky ideas about a Master Maze community.

A - Hold a photographic competition every two or three months with the winner being sent a $50 Master Maze credit voucher.

B - Create the title of "Master Maze Master Builder" for individuals who have come up with designs, photos and suggestions that teach the rest of us a thing or two. Perhaps such a title would be awarded once a year, and the recipient gets a free set of their choice. My vote for 2004 would be Tom from France, his website is the best advertisement for Master Maze you could hope for.

6 - Create a links list to other websites that feature Master Maze products.

That is about it for my rant for now. Thanks for listening.

PS - I have seen a few folks mention incentives as if they were ashamed. Why should this be? We have all spent money and they are not a charity, somehow immune from special offers. (Nice one Jeff on taking Mr Morden`s door pack idea on board. Is that offer available in the UK)?

Except for all of the Traffic from Chat Happy Maniacs like me with an Opinion on Everything...<Chuckle>... I Would like to See some More Common Interaction from the Staff as well though... And I Like the Idea of Contests... (Not a New Idea But well Described by London Dungeoneer in the above Text, And I Agree Tom has a Great Site)... There had been discussion from Admin Early on about having a Dungeon "Module" Contest... I Would Love to See that Happen especially... Even maybe a PDF D/L section for People to Post (Through Admin), Their Past Glories....

Yes Mr. San Antonio Even You...<Grin>... I Mean Personally I Have Fun Chatting... Fact Is I Love the Sound Of My Own Voice so it is a Natural that I Dig Seeing my Words in Print Too... But I Have to Admit if Anyone Wanted to Find Specific Info in a Thread It would be Tough to Find it... (Not Necessarily Admins Fault...<Sheepish Grin>...)... But Moderators Cutting and Pasting entries into context appropriate Threads could be useful...

Fair comment guys, though I do maintain that the number of forums is a bit ponderous for newbies. I registered in July and have only recently tracked back the the entire archive.

For example, I think that "How do I use this stuff" would be best served in either gametalk or photos, depending on whether it was a pic or text. Likewise, company and product news is not so frequent as to require sub categories. Indeed, promo pics of the floor set showed up in 4 or 5 different categories, and while we MM acolytes make the time to trawl I fear that a the more casual visitor would simply not bother.

I did not bring up the idea of incentives/prizes just to try and get something for nothing. Web experience has taught me that most folks do not take the time to contribute unless urged to do so somehow.

Cheers

Well I have to say that the Full page adds for Sci-Fi sets worked on me. I have known about DF for years now and never bought any of the terrain sets, just some of the accesories.

When i saw the Full page adds for the Sci Fi sets floating around in i think it was either Dragon or Dungeon, i started bugging my FLGS to find them get them etc.

In the end i started e-mailing DF directly to find out stuff about the sets and was very pleased with the responses that i got from them. Very prompt and informative.

The only suggestion i could think of is somehow find a way to list stores that carry your products. Becuase of those Dastards at UPS i am waiting about an extra week for my latest order, and i wanted a quick fix, but other than my FLGS which i know carries DF i don't know if any of the other 7 or 8 stores that are within driving distance would have them or not... A list someplace would be very nice... don't know how easy it would be to set up but it could be quit handy...

Boy am I late on this post....LOL... Hey admin, here is an idea " No guarantee on how good it is ". Have more moduels with miniatures " Like SW or D$D minis on your DF stuff. You could even have a list of what you will need to play that moduel. Like 3 ork spearmen, 2 ork warriors, 2nd level party, and 3 Fantasy Starters I passage and one Deluxe room. You could have drawings of the rooms or even pictures of the rooms. Even if you were to say minimum of 2 fantasy starters and 1 passage " for the largest room in the moduel " or the earlier list to do the entire dungeon. Of coarse the list of minis would be longer, but you get the idea. This way they can go for the modules they can play with what they initialy buy then later go for the bigger stuff as time goes on. You could even use some of your older drawings. Remember these? I finaly have enough sets to build this huge set up....
