I think you got it, man!

A combination of Fine Scale Modeler, White Dwarf without the attitude, and Tim Allen's Tool Time!

WOW! What a Concept!!

Okay, are you Tim or the neighbor with the nose over the fence? Or what's his name, the guy who worked with Tim? I KNOW you're NOT Pam Anderson!
I never watched the show, but I've seen a LOT of clips from it.

All kidding aside, I DO think this sounds like a great format, if Jeff and Doug approve the new Forum.
Hey Jeff; Hey Doug; How 'bout it?

See ya!

In the meantime, if people have posts or questions, maybe we could title those threads "WORKBENCH: [topic}" and put them in the "Gaming Talk" forum. If there are enough threads with a WORKBENCH prefix, it will demonstrate the high interest in sharing mod tips and encourage Jeff or Doug to create a dedicated forum.

It will also help people who are searching for tips and advice by creating a simple search term. Pursuant to that, some enterprising soul might want to go ahead and create some new threads that repeat old topics. (WORKBENCH: Painting to Match DF, WORKBENCH: Best Resin Brands, and so on.)

GREAT IDEA, jackattack!
(and I'm NOT kidding, either!)

Damn, why don't I get ideas like that? Oh, well.

See ya!

jackattack--you think like I do. I'm always getting crap from people for being "too organized" but I'll tell you what--I can find email and topics like nobody's business. ;-}~

Excellent suggestion.

Another thought. When someone (like me) posts an idea for a "new" piece that can be produced on a workbench, someone could put up a sort of "rebuttal" post under the WORKBENCH heading. Not necessarily as an argument against DF doing the piece, but as a helpful post that might allow others to create the piece in question without waiting.

Go take a quick look in the Fantasy forum at my "Rooms: Mine" post for a good example. I've posted ideas for DF pieces and accessories to make a Cavern layout look like a mine. Every single one of my suggestions could be done as a mod (although one or two I'd really like to see done as actual DF products). If you see something you'd like to post mod instructions for, go for it.
