TOPIC: Slowing Down?

Slowing Down? 7 Years, 10 Months ago
Is it my mistaken impression, or is traffic here on the forums slowing down?

I used to log in twice at work, before starting and at lunch, and once in the evening at home, and get 6-8 forums showing new posts, and each forum would have 2-3 threads with a new post.
Now, I might(!) get 2-3 new posts in 24 hours.

Whatsamatter, gang? Running out of things to say?

THIS BUNCH??

You gotta be kidding!!

See ya!

Hi Jim -

I've noticed the same thing. And not many pictures of set-ups of late, either. Where are you, IO ?? :)

It must be delayed "Spring Fever" or something (we're finally seeing dry, sunny days here in the northeast) !!

Or we've all been holding our breath for the new sets to arrive for too long that we're passing out :)

See ya !

I was just thinking that! Get out of my brain! It's pretty filthy in there, anyway. :)

I think Myrthe's right. We're all waiting on our watery goodness.

In the meantime, here's a topic: Who would win in a fistfight? Gary Gygax or Dave Arneson?

Discuss.

:)

Dunno either one, but if Gygax is as bad in a fight as his characters are, I kinda feel sorry for Dave.

See ya!

1) It's summer. Those of us with small children are outside enjoying the weather. Well, okay those of us in Michigan are enjoying the warmer weather, regardless of age. :)
2) I was discouraged with the spreadsheet after finding the sort issue and after having me 1.1 update crap out on me three times because I was too tired while working on it and trying to work on it while paying attention to my duties at work. I prefer to do something 100% right the first time or not at all. I suppose I should have used a database. ;) I still need to call you just to check base - sorry for not getting back to you Jim. I am still considering working on an Access database and re-doing the Excell spreadsheet (using a database as a refernce...found some interesting functions) just for the challenge of it.
3) I was hoping to get the river sets by now or the 17th so I could start putting together something. Not sure what yet. I just received my last shipment of miniatures from my favorite painter. Hoping to see how many of them I can use in the DF setups.

Without me doing a net search, was Dave Arneson the guy who was in on the original D&D with Gary Gygax? I remember reading an article explaining the origins of D&D and remember Gary as having a partner for 1-2 of the early years.

Okay, out of here for now.

One word: Paintball

Summer hits and gaming slows down so I can enjoy plugging people with my family. And since the wife and I are co-advisors to one of the few recognized high school paintball clubs (recognized as in the school recognizes them as a club) we got our hands full. Money also switches out to things like this:

Df isnt the only thing I pre-order... hehehe

Think we may have just talked our way through a lot of the "water" products and posted a lot of excitement already. I am just hunkering down and waiting for the new lovely goodies I have pre-ordered (3 lakes, 3 rivers) to arrive.

I bet the forums hot up again with lots of pretty pics once the pre orders start slapping down onto people's door mats!

Dave :)

Okay, gang.

I was just checking to see what's up, and I found out.

David, I'm waiting for 3R 2L myself, and I know Jeff is waiting for PoLA to get their butts out of Park and move the box!
RF*, should we send an emergency supply of Ping-Pong balls? They're rather brittle, but they DO bounce! We'll just have to make sure they're not paintballs, or BlackHawk1 will fire you out like an arty round!
Now THERE's a picture; look, up in the sky, it's a B1RD, it's a plane, its a Rabid Fox*!
John, don't feel bad about the spreadsheet; I'm semi-stuck on the database, more because I'm back in post on the Temple DVD than anything else.

All of you have a good Father's Day this Sunday! See ya Monday!

Just Busy here on my end.
I have two session posts pics still sitting on the computer and haven't up loaded them, one isn't even written up.
Been working on taking pictures of all of the Sci Fi for the Tile Master, it's done except one thing isn't working have to fix it.
Trying to complete my Champions of the Force Set (missing 4 minis now, and trying to trade), and going to a few events for them (came in fourth out of about 20 in the Mass release), so things are busy.

Though i do have many plans for the Rumble thread, i have been painting Scenery for that as well.

Ska -

What minis are you missing from CotF? I bought a case the week they came out. Let me know; if it's one I'm not interested in keeping, maybe we can work something up.

See ya!

Thanks but no, on the chance of being a human cannonball for the crowd.
As far as the ping pong balls, no thank you as well; my sons would have too much fun with them, and then my wife would be less than happy with them and YOU & ME!
The slows are just the consequences of active duty, and the reason I was moved from that to just semi-civilian support.
They just happen and the medicos say they just have to be endured unless I really want to risk further damage.
It is bad enough as is so, at least at this time, I am not willing to risk any more problems.
