Actually, this really puts my in a mind for a modular castle set crafted like this for building castles from. It would have wall sections in vertical slices like the tower has, of fixed lengths, each capable of accepting Game Tiles floors inside and walls at fixed intervals, plus a Gatehouse and Grand Gatehouse piece, which are the same length as a straight wall section but either 2- or 3- stories high, respectively.

I'm unsure if that description makes any sense, but I'm going to an eight-hour long crafting party at a Michael's this Saturday, and will likely draw up plans before going and see how much of a completed project I come home with.

I'll be interested to see how it turns out for you. Be sure to post photos! =D

I'm not sure how to tackle connecting walls for castles. One thought is that you could just make foam floors (sort of like the tower top) to get them in line with the tower, and have the walls of the game tiles support each layer of foam.

If it helps any, I drew the brick lines in with a safety pin, which made them easier to dry-brush. The distressed looking portions of the tower (with the texture) are where I didn't put mod-podge on thick enough, so the aerosol spray paint ate into the foam. I sorta like it where it's lighter. :)

What I'm envisioning for the wall sections is a riff on your tower design where there is a column of pink insulation-board left intact to support the upper layer, with game tiles slotting in-between. Here's my current design for "a wall section" next to an approximation of your tower.

Undel -
First, I want to chime in a big welcome to you in the DF forums!

Second, I want to congratulate you on the big splash you've made on the DF forums!!

When I joined it took me a month to figure out how to post pictures on this site...you have practically created your own thread section in one week!
These craft ideas of yours are creative, inspiring, and well executed. Thank you for contributing :-)

@GriffinTamer Thank you!

@jasdotcom Thanks! I'm trying to combine a lot of what I've seen on youtube and these forums into new pieces for my players. I do binge crafting. I'll go full steam ahead for a month or two, then putter out to next to nothing until the next crafting binge hits, haha. :)

That's a good idea! I will keep an eye out to see how it comes out. :)

So I backed the game tiles kickstarter last year for 5 unpainted sets plus some addons. There were so many tiles (and I have limited table space) that I was able to split the tiles in half and still fill the table either way. I was impressed by some of the sandstone style paint jobs, so I've begun the task of painting up the remaining half of my tiles to be a lighter sandstone color. I figure these will be good for Osirion ruins, buildings that are a little bit finer than the standard medieval fare, and maybe azlanti ruins. :)

The dark greenish water looks appropriate for swamps, sewers, and dungeons, but seemed out of place with the sandstone. I started casting some blue epoxy tiles so that the sandstone set can have clear, enticing water!

The blocks are hirst arts tiles. The tile to the left is the color of the tile before I pour the epoxy inside. I've been adding a few drops of blue ink to each epoxy pour. They're super shiny!

And here they are next to some of the sandstone game tiles. I still have the stretch goal boxes to paint, but I had enough to make two rooms.

I will probably avoid doing the stained floor on the stretch goals. It loosk good here and there, but everywhere is a bit much!

Great stuff, Undel and Old Man Willow!

Thanks for posting all this kool stuff, especially the water pouring stuff....it will be very useful when everyone gets their (unpainted) water tiles
