Torch Walls 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey Folks,

I've finally perfected my design for making Torch Walls utilizing LEDs and the new Dwarven Game Tiles. I should have some pictures up by this weekend assuming I can figure out how to post photos.

Please let me know if anybody would be interested in sending me some tiles to mod for you (helps keep costs down on both sides).

Thanks!

I look forward to seeing the pics. Torches etc are super interesting for game tiles.

Once I get a peek at the results I might be interested, once you post some pics feel free to post an email you would like to use for this type of correspondence and I will get ahold of you if I like the design.

I have no problem doing some of my own modifications, but my to-do list is getting terribly long. With the educational program I am pursuing right now I am not sure I will get to half of it before summer! So I have been considering hiring out a couple of mods I would like...

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Here is the pic layout for the CoS torch wall I made - still finishing the standard wall but more pics later. They do flicker and all parts are hidden within the GT. it has an on off switch and uses CR2032 batteries in an easily swappable holder. Also the LED in the CoS is red, while the standard walls comes in either off-white or Yellow.

@Fizzikx That is awesome where did you get that CR2032 battery holder? The one I got from radioshack is a bit bulkier than that and the prongs for wiring come out the top instead of the side making it even more awkward that one you have looks MUCH more managable

That is pretty slick. I've been thinking of making my own, as well, down the road once I get the tiles painted. Did you use the flickering lights from modeltrainsoftware.com along with their 3V Coin Cell Holder with Switch?

Although, the one flame that's drooping is a problem. Did you use the clear goop stuff I've seen in other videos where they're creating fire that you manipulate with a popsicle stick or toothpick?

@JasonYoung/Dungeonmastermark - Thanks! I just posted a few a bit ago. Please enjoy

@LordDust - Sounds great please email me at sfoshmvjc on gmail if you want to order a few, or for pricing on me modding your tiles.

@Crimson_King_Of_the_Tower - Thanks man! You can find the battery holders here: shop.evilmadscientist.com/productsmenu/partsmenu/537

It is also where I got the LEDs from which flicker

@jchunick - Thanks! It wasn’t super hard, but instead was very tedious. The hardest part is drilling without damaging the tile. Luckily I was able to setup a few templates and use them so it makes it easier than otherwise. I had to burn 3 pieces to get it figured out 100%.

As for the "flame droop" its actually an optical illusion as the photo was taken from above. I found that there is a moldable silicone which works best - I got it a hobby lobby but I dont have a link. I also found that after putting on the initial blob if i used the toothpick while holding the piece upside down that it completely eliminates any "droop" after that. I'll post a few pics of the other 8 walls I built later next week after I use them this weekend.

Thanks to everyone else for the kind words and support =)
