Cavern KS - Peer Pledge Review 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Now that just about all the Add-ons are available in the Pledge Calculator, here is what I am settling for:

Rewards Selected:
1 x 3 Cavern Sets (Expertly Hand Painted) $390

Add-Ons Selected:
1 x Mushroom Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $40
1 x Elevation Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $90
2 x Water Cavern Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $140
1 x Lava Cavern Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $95
2 x Chasm Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $100
1 x Stalagmite Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $65

(With International shipping thats $920 for me here in the UK)

The reason for my post is to check with you guys that I am not overdoing either of the River or Chasm Packs for what is ostensibly a 3 Cavern set investment ?
I am unfourtunantly working this weekend and do not have the time I had hoped to 'mock up' set ups with the Map creator. If others have already done this and can simply share a link to a map or two that would be a great help.

Anyone else happy to share their combinations and / or offer advice for Cavern Sets and Add-on Pack ratios ??

>>Edited:

Now at $945 (Includes International shipping)

1 x 3 Cavern Sets (Expertly Hand Painted) $390

Your add-ons match mine, but I'm still figuring out how many Chasms I'm getting.

Last year I was limited to $600 because we were buying a house. This year I have no such restraint and am going full stupid on my pledge:

10x unpainted sets
5x unpainted sets
2x Caverns narrow passages (unpainted)
4x elevations (unpainted)
4x water (unpainted)
1x dungeon passages #1 (unpainted)
1x dungeon passages #2 (unpainted)
2x dungeon passages #3 (unpainted)
3x mushroom pack (painted)
2x Dungeon narrow passages (unpainted)
3x chasms pack (unpainted)
3x stalagmite pack (unpainted)
brush set
paint set (x2)

Thinking of getting 2 more elevations sets plus 2-4 floor packs once their revealed.

I am aiming for this

1 x 5 Cavern Sets (Dungeon Gray) $325

1 x Mushroom Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $30
1 x Water Cavern Pack (Expertly Hand Painted) $50
2 x Elevation Pack (Dungeon Gray) $100
1 x Narrow Passage Pack (Dungeon Gray) $50
$545

if I get extra $$ (which I may on 4/14) then I will add 1 more painted water, 1 more elevation, 1 chasm, 1 stalactite and one more narrow passage.

Dandare - We are identical except that I am getting only 1 Chasm, and No Lava - I am getting narrow passage and will get floors when they are offered. I worry too about the limits of three sets, but for me bumping to 5 would mean leaving 3 add ons behind and i am not willing to part with any (see my massive "by the numbers" post)

Thomas - Get more water - they are super cheap and you will never regret it

Cletus - I think you will regret not getting Passage #4 - I also think you will be painting for years ;) - Nice pile of toys!

TK266 - I like your list - as $$$ roll in i'd get water first, chasm 2nd and then the rest - Chasms are super cheap and hugely versatile

I am having second thoughts on getting 2 Chasms. Maybe I will drop this to 1 if other Add-ons come out. I have a strict $1k budget. (and.. I agree with your recent missive... Along the lines (but far more eloquent) to my 'Does the KS Cavern need Focus?' post. There is simply no way I can buy ANY of the DT stuff (deserved more pre-planning and its own KS IMHO) and am 'Staying Focussed and on Target' to get all the amazingly beautiful Cavern sets)

Although I have not use Map Maker to confirm - I agree!. Every time I look at the Water Add-on, I know I will need more than 1 set.

I would rely like to see a painting video come out on these before the KS is over with. Last time I went with unpainted and was fine with that (other than all the time it took to paint them) Just wondering if these will be more difficult to paint or not. You can get more tiles for the buck unpainted so not sure what way I will go this time.

Kitenerd:

It won't be too bad to finish them. Last time I painted 5 sets plus one of each add on in 10 days worth of evening and afternoon painting (basically 2 hours a night plus two sunday afternoon's). I really enjoy painting these because they are quick and fun. Normally I paint RPG mini's where I spend days highlighting one stupid accessory so these are a nice break for me. Also have a goofy amount of bones 2 KS coming in the fall though so this could be interesting...

Artcwolf - definitely #2 - you want 2 waters - if it were me i'd loose narrow passages for chasms, chasms open up way more possibilities (pun intended) or just go over budget and get both... come on... all the cool kids are doing it!
