Howdy all. I have long been a fan of Dwarven Forge, but it wasn't until last night that I acquired a set of the Master Maze products.

I had, of course, pledged for the awesome Game Tiles Kickstarter project last year, and I was extremely (extremely!) pleased with the end product.

Now, I can say that I not only own Game Tiles, but Master Maze stuff! My lovely wife ordered some stuff for me for Christmas; alas, it arrived late, but that is of no consequence (and the awesome guys at DF added a free bonus to make up for the delay, which was not necessary but was DEFINITELY appreciated - you guys rock).

Anyway, I was so excited that I had to whip something together. It's small, but it incorporates pieces of the Master Maze and Game Tiles sets that I now own. Feel free to peruse and offer feedback if you so desire:

What's the point of this? That I highly, highly recommend picking up some of their Master Maze stuff in addition to your Game Tiles. They are not just visually awesome, they are well-made, light, and easily stored (much like the Game Tiles!).

Anyways, just wanted to show my appreciation. Love this stuff!

You, my friend, married well! Glad i am not the only one ;)

Love the CoS to Hellscape transition, that looks great and works well thematically. Like the fact that you have a little bit of everything makes for a nice diverse setup (and i LOVE the woodland set - limited utility, but very unique).

Welcome to the "addiction" and the forum.

Cool setup! I particularly like the ruins next to the woodlands, makes me think of a crumbling building being reclaimed by the forest. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Koralk and welcome to the forum here!

Like you, I'd admired Dwarven Forge for years, but it was the Game Tiles KS that lured me to take the plunge, and since then I've picked up a few Master Maze items as well. Now I wonder why I waited all these years to get into full 3D miniature gaming, it's so much fun, and satisfying to set up a real tangible miniature world... It's totally rejuvenated my gaming hobby, even prompted me to work up an entire new game system to use with the new terrain and minis.

Your setup has a great look, really nice variety, interesting transitions... I see you've also picked up some nice accessories already-- like the look of those trees!

Game on!

Thanks for the kind words, all!

I added a couple new albums to showcase some of the other work I've been doing.

The Forest Campground was a spot where the PCs tracked down part of a bandit group that had split up to avoid capture. A fairly straight-forward encounter (except for the falling trees; see below!).

The Eldenholt album showcases the village "square" of the village of Eldenholt, where the PCs are headed next. The village has come under the attack of local lizardfolk; these particular lizardfolk have contracted a disease known as "scale rot" and have been exiled from their brood to try and prevent the spread of the disease. The ruined buildings around the town are the result of these attacks.

I have realized that I undoubtedly need more pieces... luckily, my wife has frequently said the same thing as she watches me build stuff, so I think I will have not trouble securing funds for the Caverns KS. :D

I have run into a problem with the trees I picked up - they tend to fall over easily! I plan on picking up some "sticky squares" from Michael's to see if those will solve the issue. I ran an encounter the other day where trees were toppling all across the battlefield. Not a bad hazard to throw into certain combat scenes, but it was not intended for that one! :)

If anyone has any other suggestions to solve this problem, I'd love to hear them!

Underneath each tree from my miniature forest, I stuck heavy and wide washers to provide weight, stability and to allow trees to stick at the bottom of my magnetized forest-storing box. Hope that helps...

biowizard - Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into that as an option, it might solve my problems!

As I did not buy my trees in bulk (they came in those little plastic cases with a separate "bubble" for each tree) I am sticking with that. If I end up buying more of them, though, I will definitely have to convert to your storage method.

Also, I love those pine trees that you have... Now I must have some.

Thanks again! :)

Or you could glue them to 40-60mm bases, and then flock the exposed bases.
