OK just want to chime in too :)

I received my 3 pre-painted sets, plus stretch goals and 2 add-ons (Floors and dressing) i think one week ago (in Denmark, Europe). I am REALLY (!!) pleasantly surprised to realize that customs were prepaid (i'd have ordered six sets had i known lol)

The sets are EXCELLENT! Love em. There are a few slightly bent pieces (one table bent, and the floors are slightly bent), nothing i can't fix. And the overall quality i FAR better than i could have expected. Only thing i have got that can match the quality is... my other Dwarven Forge purchase (3 caverns sets earlier).

The pieces are crisp and clean and the painting is superb!

As I am so happy i just quickly built one of the main entry chambers and its immediate surroundings from my homemade megadungeon that our home Pathfinder RPG campaign that i am GM'ing has been playing in and around for now 45 sessions. The room with the pillars is the first room is the entry chamber, and this is actually some part of level 3, level 1 being just some small old goblin caves and level 2 being a dwarven temple with a staircase leading down to this... the staircase visible in the room with the pillars. The quick build here is probably around 1/6 of level 3. And level 4 downwards are each twice as big... :)

The photos are NOT good quality, but i might as well add them anyways i figure. I will build more and take much better photos later.

It is really something to SEE my own dungeon in 3D for the first time (i have only seen it in my head so far and on grid paper and chessex mats). Seeing it in Dwarven forge terrain really is like actually seeing the architecture. I am actually learning new things about my dungeon this way. And it's only just the beginning... OK enough late-night ramblings....
:D

Looks like you have made a real nice start there! Don't worry about the pics. I can't take very good ones either, probably why I got drummed out of photography club back in school<G>! They are usually at a bad angle or wrong lighting or out of focus.

Thank you for your kind comment :) Thought i must say its pretty spot on regarding my photos here... "at a bad angle or wrong lighting or out of focus." ;)

Im really liking these new sets :)

Now i just REALLY want Dwarven Forge to produce Game Tiles Corridor/Passage pieces! Like a lot of other i need a lot of 10' wide passages for the typical dungeon with long passages everywhere.

It is possible to make 10' passages using the existing Game tile pieces, but i lament that they have to wide a profile for this use, as this can make building many maps difficult, as there isnt enough room for all the close-by corridors and rooms then.

And it would be very practical and useful to have a set of passage pieces. I might consider buying some of the resin ones even, but would much prefer ones that completely matches the Game Tiles, and are as durable :)

Another thing i would really like to see, is a Chamber of Sorrows set that is pre-painted in the standard dungeon colors :) I think such a set would be quite popular as there are many nice extra pieces supplementing the standard dwarvenite sets!

Just to show that my happy dungeon building with the Game Tiles are proceding in orderly fashion :)
Here is a part of the dungeon (actually a separate crypt sort of place), that my players MIGHT see some action in, come saturday.

Two photos (from two different angles), in no better condition than the last ones :)

The tiles are even better for making dungeons like this, than i thought. Though i still miss 10' passage pieces. And now i have plans about making my own maybe... out of some Game Tiles

I'm trying to make that layout in mapmaker, and one part is bugging me. How did you get the portcullis flush with the entrance of the round room? Did you use narrow freestanding walls?

Looks great LordofMuck!

I can see you had to do the same thing I did when needing double doors (simply putting two doors side by side). Would really love an actual double door that fit the space! Maybe they can add such a piece down the line. It is something which is necessary and has come up quite a bit when mapping out my rooms.

OK i know this is a VERY late reply (sorry for some reason i just hadnt noticed the replies to my thread) Funny seeing my old post now though, since that time i have played a lot of sessions using the Dungeon Game Tiles, as well as the resin caverns. And of course - like everyone else? - i am now eagerly following (and pledging) on the Caverns Kickstarter! I am already starting to build a new campaign centret around a much bigger, deeper and move cavern-centret megadungeon (an entrance to the actual Underworld, ruled by the Death God)....

But the answers, lol...

First of all, thanks a lot for your replies! :)

@GX.Sigma: Yes i had to use narrow free-standing walls. In fact i used the (and also the non-narrow ones) several places if i remember correctly, and the narrow ones are realy quite useful for making door openings fit into larger corridors.

@Arbados: Thanks :) Yes i would also really like for DF to produce actual double-doors for the Dungeon Tiles, my we can make do with using two doors - or doors from else where too.

Im right now really pleased that they are putting out true 10' passage pieces (2") as well as the narrow passages. MAN these will be handy in my games, both when playing in my homemade megadungeon, and also when using older modules (mostly B/X and AD&D ones), that feature A LOT of 5' and especially 10' corridors.

GAME ON!

@LordofMuck,

If you are eager for double doors and haven't seen them already, then go check out GriffinTamer's facebook page here:

*Note: you can also check out his thread here, but I don't think it's been updated with the newest pics of the caverns entrance.

He'll have a Kickstarter of his own going soon.

@jchunick:
Thank you. Yes his work looks really good! Though i wonder the exact dimensions? No matter, it is certainly something i could find a use for :=) Certainly for entrance pieces for example.

Well i see there is an inch grid on the piece, so its probably 6 inches wide :) (the door itself 4 inches wide)
