Quorthon13 - Mayan Ruins Game Tiles Scheme? 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Quorthon13, if you have the Pokorny Paints and a spare unpainted tile please do this test and post a picture of the results.

1. Paint entire tile with a base color similar to Golden High-Flow Fluid Acrylics "Permanent Green Light". Left-most color.

2. Dry brush entire tile with Pokorny Paints "Base Gray".
3. Dry brush entire tile with Pokorny Paints "Stone Edge".

I'm hoping this will look like Mayan Ruins. Basically the base coat will shine through the cracks, and parts of the bricks looking like a bright moss.

Calling Quorthon13!

Your slime-thread got me thinking about this. And how you have shown almost what I am looking for with your strong usage of Base Gray & Stone Edge rather than the other colors on many of your tiles.

If you have a spare tile, and any paint similar to the green posted above please give this a shot. It could even be a lighter green like your slime.

somehow I missed this when it was originally posted - I painted a bunch of tiles with random color schemes... I still need to take pics of them though.

Green with the colors you mentioned drybrushing would look nice, so if i have a similar green i'll try it.

I am making the random colored tiles for 2 uses - 1 since the tiles get used by my kids alot - they will like some of the color schemes, and also I have been dreaming of a "room of confusion" with many color tiles, and can make a few more for that....

I'll see if I can take some pics tonight, depends on how easy it is to get the kids to bed 1st. ;-)

You did not miss it. I just edited an older thread of mine with no responses and bumped it so you would see it.

Anyway, thanks for doing this test. I think it would look awesome (at least in my mind it is going to look awesome).

Thanks a zillion for this test.

While it is true the color would be brighter if I primed white, the green is too overpowering (any shade) as a base-coat.

You save me a ton of money! Thanks!
