Re:Wicked Cavern Pack progress 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
i plan on drilling a pin into both ends of the bottom of the transition free-standing wall... then drilling two holes into a floor tile of both types so that I can pin into place my wall on whatever type floor I am interested in for my build... and then it would be easy to remove and pin into the opposite type floor.

doesn't really bother me that both sides don't match...

My wife says you are doing a great job Stephan! I must agree:) The light blue is a definite improvement on the waterfall.

It is nice to see a transparent piece being produced along the PVC/Dwarvenite KS pieces. Is the casting material translucent/clear PVC?

The more I see these photos, the more I am glad I bought into this kickstarter. My only regret is I could not buy more.

Thanks for the pics Stefan! - we needed a 'fix' !

Love this stuff, should have bought 2 wicked additions!

Waterfall is awesome - should be a great way for DF to try translucent material and learn the issues/expenses that come along with the territory - assuming all goes smoothly, then Stefan has another avenue to exploit and there are a ton of cool things that can be done with translucent material

Funny, i hadn't thought about the two sided transition wall issue until someone brought it up. Passage solution seems the best, but it can also be fixed on the dungeon side with diagonal or curved walls which would allow for the cavern to be 'almost flush' i'm thinking with toys in hand there are probably more solutions. I like the piece, it is very cool and exactly what i was looking for. The rubble should help with the tippy problem.

Cool stuff, is it November yet?

It's nice to see some pieces in progress. I do hope the waterfalls are left colorless, though, to allow for greater versatility.

Beautiful work, I really appreciate the dedication of the dwarven forge team, in both the kickstarter and the community they have built.

OH wow... tough call.
The colour looks amazing, and gives a look you cannot achieve by painting (easily)
But versatility is a major factor here, because some will want lava.

I say open up that pledge manager again and offer a choice of colour!

if you are going to paint, would there be a significant difference between priming and painting a dungeon gray waterfall vs. priming and painting a translucent one? - I say make the cool translucent waterfall and those who don't like it can still paint it.

For that matter, there is an opportunity for DF to make additional waterfall pieces in the lava color available for purchase from the DF store at a later date. I am sure the lava river people would love to have glowing red orange lava falls! (It is also safe to assume that most lava river buyers bought regular rivers as well - so including "normal" waterfall in the wicked additions will be appreciated.)

Some shots of the progress....cast the waterfall in light blue here in NY...they should be able to do something similar at the factory...

Are you saying the factory might be able to cast it in solid light blue or a translucent light blue?

I don't think Stefan would have shown it as translucent casting if he thought the factory could only do an opaque casting, but confirmation would be nice.

I'm thinking that a light diluted wash in a slightly darker blue might enhance the visual texture of the piece. But that should be left as a mod for the customer, not as a factory paint job.
