Good match

It is straightforward to match the resin with the new paint. The water effect will need to dry over night.

I'm just blown away by how fast you can deliver all these neat custom projects while still maintaining very high standards Oldmanwillow. I just do not have as much free time and/or similar exceptional speed as you. Are you retired?

I am disabled so I have nothing but time. I just placed an order with Woodland for the new molds. I am curious where you got the mdf. I have not worked with it before, just plywood and foam.

I have some mobility issues myself. I get MDFB at Home Depot. I buy it in 2'by 2's by 1/8" They also have pink styrofoam in 2'by 2's by 1"s They will cut it and put it in the car too. I am a permanent cain user but I some time use the electric carts. I can not lift a whole sheet of plywood anymore. HD has been good about cutting sheets small enough for me to handle when no helpers are around.
I never use MDF for any thing but model work.

Here is a WIP photo of the WS Water Effects. I will post a photo later this evening when it begins to clear.

Home Depot is one of the places I get the free stuff (large dense cardboard tubes, scrap material, some wire spools, etc). They have been pretty friendly and helpful. I do shop there, but they don't seem to mind giving me some of the stuff they were going to toss. I had to give them a wee bit of money for the couple of fixtures, but they were more than worth it and increased my garage storage space.

I actually seem to have a sensitivity to formaldehyde. One type is used in MDF, exposure worsens my allergies and scratches from it swell up and turn as red as an infection. I can still use it in my projects, but I have to wear a mask when I cut it and seal it after.

I like the pics Oldmanwillow, thanks for posting them and talking about your process a bit. Echoing previous posters, you do very nice work.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Thanks, I will check at HD when we get back from Dallas and I recover from the trip. My stuff from Woodland Scenics is supposed to be here Thursday so I guess I will have to look at it also when we get back. I don't think I have anywhere near your talent at this small stuff, but I might be able to make something usable for myself (I hope anyway:)) I am usually better on a 2'x2' footprint if you have seen my waterfall.

Thanks for tHe nice comments.

I have been using the DF paint sets a bit while waiting for the Water Effect to dry.

The hard part is waiting for the Water Effect to dry so I can go to the next step. The mine works I made to replace and old worn out paper model. The thin Water Effect dried overnight. I then added a coat of Realistic Water.

Anyone else notice all the cool stuff in the background of the pic with the Idol? Giant Mushroom, candelabras, big spider, rocks or stalagmite, a dog, tall statue, what looks like a unpainted lady, roper, ect. Think I had a bit of a nerdgasm. :D

I usually do Realistic Water followed by Water Effects. Any particular reason for your order?

Hey guys... sorry to be the bearer of bad news buuuut... here's the latest from Stefan:

"Waterfall was a very popular piece...it will be included, but not as a modular design....although the concepts were OK, I don't think it would be good for a waterfall to take up half the set....SO many awesome suggestions...fear not, I am keeping the list for future creations....a future Wicked Cavern Additions 2? Thanks William for the handy links....it has been very hard for me to keep up with all the emails, forum posts, text messages, facebook posts, kickstarter threads.....If you don't hear from me much in the next few days it's because I am up in my Loft sculpting:) My partner and Jeff are manning the ship....behind the scenes there is A LOT of work going on...."

Sounds like waterfall may be coming at a later point =)
