I have to sheepishly admit that I would like to put together the entire home base city, some intervening countryside, and the dungeon all at once... while I am unlikely to get there soon, I am making headway.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Definitely want to throw my vote in for a combined MBS/Sewers KS #3. When can we start pledging?

Just because you are a character, doesn't mean you have character.

Now! Open a separate bank account (savings, investment, whatever you prefer). Every time you get an urge to throw money at Dwarven Forge, throw the money into that account. When the KS comes around, you'll be prepared!

LOL awesome idea! Maybe if I do something similar I won't quadruple my original budget next time ¬.¬

My first vote would be for sewers.

Second vote for cityscape/MBS but ONLY if the MBS looks different (but is compatible with) the current resin MBS sets.

I though Stefan was hinting at the possibility that he may be doing a castle sometime soon as well? This might be in resin or it might be another Kickstarter?

The search for a shipping option that doesn't virtually double the $ cost to us across the pond in Europe would be good too.

Outdoor, medieval buildings, sewers.

In that order.

There are just so many things you can do with medieval buildings. First, you can use regular game tiles to make brick buildings to mix it up a bit. You can combine the game tiles with the medieval buildings so that you have a brick building base with a tudor style top.

I would use them all of the time. Tavern fights, exploring haunted houses, factories, farm houses, mansions (haunted, cult hideout, criminal hide out), stables and barns (if we get rough wood look too). In my game, this Saturday, an undead horde will lay siege to a small town and the heroes, along with some citizens, will be holed up in the Tavern (hopefully using the tables to block up the windows) while they fight off ghouls, ghasts, and zombies. If I had a dwarvenite MB set it would be that much better. You can't be in a dungeon all of the time.

The trinity is cobblestone dungeon (game tiles), cavers, and buildings. I really want a sewer set as well, however, how many times do your players go to the sewers? Mine have gone maybe once and I can just use game tiles, a small piece of pipe, and some sewer water printout for now.

I'd be down for the Medieval Buildings in KS3.

I could do sewers easy enough using game tiles and negative space. From what I could see from the preview pictures I've seen, the sewer set in the works (not sure if those are game tile prototypes) doesn't have an observable grid which is kind of important for my use in some systems. I've really liked that the dungeon and the cavern mostly attempts to have a grid.

I just find that sewers occur less frequently than taverns, cabins, and warehouses in the games I play, so building just seem to be the lower hanging fruit.

I'd vote for some kind of medieval building/village set or an outdoor set of some kind. They would get much more use than anything else I could think of for our games.

Sadly, we can see that regardless of whatever theme we do get, most people probably won't invest nearly as much as they have in the past. Dungeons and caverns seem to be the largest sprawling area, and the most commonly used. Our expectations for funding I think would need to drastically change, or would need to get some more awesome add-ons for our dungeon and cavern sets.

I agree about smaller markets for sewers and MBS - but i still hope Df does them. Either together or separate. There is potential for these to be "carried" to some extent by add ons to the Caverns and Dungeon line, but here is where the "focus" issue comes in.

I would prefer that Sewers and MBS be separate, simply because i think it keeps things simpler. I'd rather spend $400 twice than $700 once, it is just easier on my budget. If we go into these smaller KS with a lower expectation, we can also make smaller sets (and fewer stretch goals will be earned) with a lower price point to hopefully welcome back some of the folks who thought stuff was too pricey. Of course those folks will likely just start the whole "in KS 1 there were # pieces in a set, now there is only..." So what can you do?

Like the idea of a "Shipping" tier that allows add ons for folks with no base sets - We could just make the tote bag $50 ;)

I would agree with this, but I just don't see it happening. Forget the naysayers who were complaining about "not enough stuff / we aren't breaking goals quickly enough," etc. We WANTED passages and then were offered them, and people still complained.

A smaller, more "niche" run of a single set would probably not do as well, financially, as something that offers a ton of options. I know that Jeff and Stefan have both said their cost is dramatically reduced as well when they are able to do HUGE runs instead of smaller ones.

Lesson learned? Start saving now. :)

I don't quite get the seeming rigid thinking like this in a hobby such as ours which demands a certain level of creativity.

I challenge anyone thinking or making similar statements to challenge your creativity and imagine up scenarios for your players involving sewers.... Because when the third KS comes up there's a good chance it'll include sewers.
