Galladril - I am quite sure the Stefan would make all new sculpts if he did buildings in dwarvenite - so then your village could look realistic rather than all the buildings looking the same

If ever KS3 is buildings, I would like cobblestone pieces to make streets!

I definitely like the idea of a medieval buildings KS with a nice variety of styles, say common buildings in the base set and then something for rougher structures and perhaps also for more elaborate ones.

There could be many add-ons as well. Ruins would be my first choice, but also sewer or catacomb pieces would be great.

And I think cobblestone streets is also a great idea. Personally I think I'd still want to set my buildings on a green mat, I think rough felt looks more like grass that Dwarvenite would, but thin cobbled roads that could also be laid on a mat would be great.

My vote is also for a Buildings set. Mines are too close to caverns and I do not think you would get near the support you got for KS1 and KS2. I would also at some point, like a Forests set.

Cobbled street material is available at the craft store, near the doll houses and the Christmas village stuff.

As far as a mine set goes, I think it needs to be very rough, like tunnels carved out of stone.

I'm concerned that a proper city set would require so many different unique pieces (even without streets and sidewalks) That it would be completely unfeasible.

I'm hoping for something completely new for the next kickstarter. Sewers, maybe, or a new type of building (stacked stones with wooden beams and planks on top?). Some of the add-ons might be small sets, like the unrealized Critter Tunnels or Wicked Additions for Dungeon GameTiles.

A medieval building set seems like a logical KS3 as other people have said. Sewers, catacombs, and ruins would all be awesome as well but seem more appropriate for campaigns further down the line.

See my post here with a bunch of links to KSes creating mats for gaming... there are now a lot of options out there for cobblestones and grass.

Of course, the most detailed resin cobblestone can be found here:

... and yes, that pic is a real painted resin piece.

For reference purposes, here's where Stefan said he considered making DF street pieces: www.dwarvenforge.com/forum?func=view&catid=4&id=44544

We learned from the KS2 Water pack that floors pieces in big amounts can come quite cheap and we know for sure that DF sculpts would look much better than any Christmas accessory you can find, with grid. There could also be patterns in the sculpts such as gutters, horse carriage tracks, sidewalks...

I'd really like to see buildings in the next kickstarter with ruins as an add on. You could have a couple sets of ruins, one that would match the original game tiles and another the building tiles.

A lot of people seem to want sewers so that could be another add on. The sewers add on should coordinate with the existing game tiles but just add flavor like wall tiles with pipes coming out or a ladder to get to the surface, a haphazard bridge made with boards. The water tile could have sh .. er stuff floating in it.

Anywho, that was my idea.

I think the most important thing for the 3rd Kickstarter - is for it to be designed differently than the previous 2.

I have a feeling whatever KS3 is - the scope will probably cover more than one thing. It could be "Medieval Buildings" and "Sewers" with supplements for "Dungeons" and "Caverns" (the same way we got Dungeon Passages in KS2).

The problem - you will have lots of people who:
a) Only want Dungeon pieces
b) Only want Cavern pieces
c) Only want Sewer pieces
d) Only want Medieval Building pieces"
e+) Any combination of one or more but not all of the above.

It really should be done "a la carte" (not on the "piece level" - but on the "set level"). You don't want to lose perspective backers who are interested in some aspect of the Kickstarter and want to buy multiple packs of tiles, but maybe don't want to have to buy in at the "2+ Set" level of whatever might be the "Base Set". You are going to have so many people saying: "I really want to pledge for Ruins but I don't want to have to buy 2+ sets of the Sewers to get them" (or whatever)

I'm not sure how to solve this. Maybe you have a higher starting goal, so that once it is achieved, people can pick sets.

I like the idea of each KS having one add on that supplements the previous sets -corridors got a little out of control when it became 5 sets... I think many of us would have preferred a $60 corridor set with a mix of parts (Stefan seemed to have pretty good ratios in his sample map). In the end there was just too much goodness for most wallets.

Next Dungeon Add On i would like to see is traps! - Sliding spiked wall, Big block (like the resin set), Scything blade, Tipping floor section (20' hallway supported on one half free spinning on the other, like the doors laying down - to be used on an elevated section and drop characters into a lower level), Rotating column with holes for stuff to shoot out... the possibilities are nearly endless and all of them are FUN!!!!

I suspect that MBS should be the core of the next set, combination of the "timber & plaster" and some "wood plank shack" wall tiles for the buildings, and then some other important "town" pieces: The graveyard with crypt entrance, the dock / waterfront, sewers, and city gate. If it was just buildings and sewers I would be sold. all else is gravy.
