Re:Rivers & Lakes 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Tweaked set pic has been LEAKED

Stefan PLEASE reconsider before it is official - PLEASE don't take all our corners!

What about this: 12 corners 8 straights, 8 quarter rounds, 2 pointies - the build potential with this ratio is MUCH better

Don't force me to buy two chasm packs... I am already WAYYYYYY over budget and would rather have a set of pedestals (and you get $20 more that way!)

Errr. That has TWO types of corners.. making 7 + 7 corners ?!

Not sure that is what the set needed at all...

Especially if we can still not get 2 x corners in a single 2 x 2 space to make a mini crack / chasm.
Now IF there was a 'Smaller' corner that allowed that and there were say 4 of those smaller ones.. THAT would be enhancing the corner situation. greatly.

Nate, if you have the Chasm pieces, I would be interested in seeing how these pieces can interact with each other if placed in the same 2x2 footprint. For example, the map maker shows that two corner chasm pieces can be placed in the same 2x2 footprint (the corners on opposite sides) to combined create a single opening within the 2x2 footprint. Can this be done with the actual tiles without overlap? Perhaps have 8 floor tiles around an open 2x2 space, and put two corners pieces in that space.

Related to the above, what about the straight chasm pieces? It looks like there might be the chance for four of them to be combined in the same 2x2 footprint to make a pit/hole; however, MapMaker shows some overlap. Could you demonstrate if this can be done or not(perhaps in a similar way as above for the corners)?

I agree with Don the Dime and Dandare - if two corners could be combined to create a football shaped crack and four straights could be combined to make a small hole we would have a ton of potential for awesomeness. The pieces look like they might be able to do this and if not it seems it would only take a very slight tweak to the sculpts (both seem to have a convex edge on one side and a concave on the other, just make them nest) to open up both of these possibilities.

Thanks

Is it me, or do the concave chasm corner and the new convex chasm corner fit together?

I do not see how they can as both of the pointy (non 90 degree) corners on both types seem to fit right into the very point. I suspect a small amount of trimming (from the unseen flat side) may be required.
I really think that you should be able to make a 2 x 2 'crack' in the floor using 2 pieces, but that can be solved with a craft knife.

Hello Folks!
the concave and convex pieces have been adjusted so that they can both occupy a 2" x 2" space...the mapmaker program probably still has the original pictures before my tweak.....these Chasm Pieces were sculpted to be leaning more towards a Chasm look....since we decided (at the last minute) to make actual river/lake pieces.....

It may be possible in our next Kickstarter to create another look....maybe more of a water erosion type edge and also to add some more shapes to this current Chasm theme If it proves popular...we will see how many have been ordered when we get the surveys in....

Stefan - this is AWESOME news!!! (i use that word too much... child of the 80's sorry) I suspected looking at tehm that you had already thought that through - glad to have confirmation that you are as always a step ahead of us!

Do the ledge pieces fit four to a 2x2 - they look like they might... it would leave a perfect little hole for a tentacle to reach out of!

The water looks awesome even if they are only protypes. My only concern that the "all water" pieces match the rest of the pieces and that the algae isnt overpowering it. It looked a bit overdone in the samples and stood out against the regular cavern more than I would like. Good luck pleasing everyone but I thought I would at least voice my opinion. Great kickstarter.... you got me good on this one :)
