I wonder who might have flight stands to match all those 3D setups? ;-)

These sculpts are fantastic! I hope there are a few free-standing walls (straight and curves).

I am a huge believer in the "elevations" elements.

Just envision the hugely improved tactical possibilities of a multilevel cavern:

The increased benefits of skills such as Climbing, Dungeoneering, Search, Disable Device.

Role play elements such as: Pillars that arise when a switch is thrown; Chase Scenes, dramatic villains atop pillars; Gladitorial battles with king of the hill objectives.

Monsters: with fly, burrow, jump, or spider climb. (Magic items that allow any of the same.)

Multilevel Bridges... (think goblin caves... dwarven architecture).

Now combine your Game Tiles, or Resin pieces with these new elements!

You will have Underground structures!

The sky is the limit!

I agree with all of this! Now I'm even more eager for february to get here last time I got just 10 sets no addons but this time I think I'll definitely have to change that I just hope I have enough to cover what I want lol

They look absolutely fantastic and I'm on board 100%! However, I have one question. From the pics it seems that there is no true representation for 1" boxes for movement of miniatures. Can you help me out in understanding if there will be some clear designation. They do look grander than I thought, but my question is somewhat important to me and I couldn't determine that through the pics!

Thanks.

Close scrutiny of the image on page 2 of this thread shows that the piece is laid out in DF's standard 2x2 square configuration. Viewed from directly above, it's a square grid.

Vertically, I don't know if the various elevations will occur in 1" increments or not.

Hello Arbados

I could be wrong but I think the thought was/is that with the floor pieces being only 2"x2" it will pretty easy with just a little bit of line breaks to tell how many 1" are between here and there.

Hope me answering on two forums is not annoying.

Very surprised to see such large tall pieces. Interesting to see how the sets pan out and how many variety of pieces there are.

I am still hopeful that this will integrate and the same painted option as the well used and loved 'dank damp caverns' of old.

I am certain that whatever Stefan decides will still be a great and gorgeous addition to the DF GT range and little doubt will soon be throwing what money that I have not spent in the local tavern on getting a full set with as many add ons as I can!

@Stefan. Next time you come to the UK, let me know in advance and I will clear a weekend to meet up, have a beer or three (I know some great places!) and show you some of the sights the UK has to offer. If you are ever planning on designing a castle DF line, you need to get your research in... right!

Wow...absolutely amazing sculpts! I'm even more excited about the KS now.

Totally agree. The role playing and tactical possibilities of vertical builds are expansive. I also love the aesthetic of a tall setup, it adds a whole new level of realism.

as far as a grid goes....2" x 2" pieces make a grid almost superfluous I feel...it doesn't take much to imagine the 4 spots that are possible within that 2" x 2" space....that being said, there are slight indications on most pieces...

elevations: it's going to be totally bad ass!

I read through pages and pages of forum suggestions and no stone was left unturned....18 years of not just MY experience, but of ALL my awesome collectors experience has been put into these designs...it will be as though these Caverns were designed by YOU guys! (and Gals) The basic pieces, the most popular pieces will be the base set....other more whimsical stuff will be available for Add on's....so everyone will be happy:)

Absolutely perfect. I think this is a great idea. I wonder what kind of pieces will be used for the stretch goals? I'm guessing they will be more in-line with the 'basic' type pieces?
