@ amykins3

toothbrush, soap and hot water seemed to work for me. all my pieces were painted with DF paints. I would suggest trying to wash one piece in the dishwasher just to see what happens. Can't see it melting, but not sure if it would take the paint off.

One of the crappy jobs of my youth was shilling Simple Green at a warehouse store, when both were new.

Simple Green is recommended for cleaning sneakers. If it doesn't hurt rubber soles, it probably won't hurt Dwarvenite.

Alcohol also works to strip acrylic paint, and shouldn't harm the Dwarvenite. The dishwasher would probably be fine; I would worry more about paint in my dishwasher filter than about hurting the DF pieces. Maybe try soaking them in Simple green or alcohol to get the bulk of the paint off, then the dishwasher to strip the stubborn bits?

With any of these, I suggest trying it on one piece to make sure it's safe before trying it on a bunch of them.

I have personally used Simple Green on my existing Dwarvenite Games Tiles, and I can assure you, it works **amazingly** well after about a 3 hour soak.

Don't know that I would do it on resin, though.

I had one that my daughter knocked into another piece unbeknownst to me. They traded some paint since they were drying. Hot water and a semi-firm nylon brush removed all the paint without too much effort or any dwarvenite damage. Simple Green will work great too, I just hated to pour it for only two pieces.

If you are doing a whole set, a Simple Green bath should work fine, and I would use that over the dishwasher. If you want nylon brushes, one comes in a three pack at Harbor Freight tools for very cheap. The other two brushes are grades of metal wire, which are great for some things I do, but not so much minis. You could probably get away with a nylon brush from the dollar store even.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Because the heat from the dishwasher activates the enzymes in the Simple Green, without boiling them away like the stove would.

Humor, actually. Apparently I did it wrong.

A better example from the movie Airplane!
- "Because George Zip died."
- "Over Macho Grande."
- "No. I'll never be over Macho Grande."

Has anyone tried stripping a set that were pre-painted? I'm tempted to try it.
