You already have guys trying to take unpainted kickstarter sets and sell them for 4x the original price they paid. Not only that they are advertising it with a pre-painted image then non-nonchalantly mentioning they are unpainted at the very end.

www.ebay.com/itm/Dwarven-Forge-Game-Tiles-PRE-SALE-74-piece-set-unpainted-/151139622054?pt=Games_US&hash=item23309f9ca6

You sold them 10 unpainted sets with stretch-goals for $500. He is trying to get $200 + shipping per unpainted set that he paid $50 for.

You want to know how to kill this? Put up the pre-order prices now. I know you are far to busy shipping right now, but if you did it would really hurt the ebay scalpers.

Looks like the listing has already been removed.

I was under the assumption that ebay policies had changed recently, and you could NOT post a stock image of something you were trying to sell - it HAD to be the actual item.

Maybe that is what killed it?

I re-linked it. It is still active. DF needs to post up their pre-order prices, not necessary make them active but make it well known they they have a TON of stock and will be selling them after kickstarter orders ship.

Honestly I am sure they are making the website updates as soon as they can. When they are ready for prices to be posted they will update it.

As for the ebay prices, if someone buys them, I say let them. its the price they pay for making uneducated purchases. impulse buying is silly. You should look up the product and get an idea of retail prices before bidding. ebay 101. And even though the prices aren't up there they just have to dig a little

Meh... what's the problem with scalping, really?

If someone missed the KS and wants to pay $200 for a set, I don't have a problem with that.

I think it's a good idea for DF to start accepting preorders just so they don't miss out on people who are interested, but not necessarily to eliminate scalpers.

The only problem I see is that DF has plenty of stock to sell and they need to make that well known now, so that they don't lose out on sales to scalpers. It's in their best interest to do so.

I doubt he gets that much for them. But we could just make another auction for the same product for $80 and make the auction 30 days long bahahaha. That would screw that guy over pretty good

Here's the listing:

You really have to know nothing about Dwarven Forge to buy that listing. Wait a few more weeks and you'll basically get the same thing for sale for half the price here! This guy is just looking for newbs.

I thought eBay also forbid pre-release auctions. You have the have the item in hand. If this person's GT get delayed for any reason, he would be able to ship...

Selling before merchandise is on hand or pre-ordering is against eBay policy but they seldom, if ever enforce it from what I've seen.

That seller is a KS speculator who has cash and happy to wait months to then try to sell everything!
A great deal of recent feedback is for Reaper Bones...

I guess there will always be people who mistrust / dislike the idea of KS, but will still want to buy - by any means - what they want & not give two hoots about it.
If there are buyers who work this way then there will be sellers responding to that market.
