His enthusiam is pretty infectious. If you didn't know it was Stefan behind the camera in that video he could have easily been a really big fan of DF, just like any one of us.

The prices for the sets as listed at GenCon I'm good with (a bit cheaper per set, but then the KS had a bunch of freebies, so I don't have any issue with that) Overall, I think a really good price point. Well done!

Quick clarification: The deluxe painted pack is 3 for $135- I purchased 4 for $190 at the KS! I'm not super pleased that retail is less than the KS for this, but the reason is not the few bucks difference. It's becoming apparent that rather than using KS to get a discount for add ons, you are better to wait for retail. This sets a bit of a nasty precedent, as more people catch on fewer will pledge for add ons on KS. As another example I had an order with Reaper- the core Vampire pledge was unbelievable good value, as was Kaladrax, but many of the add ons could actually be gotten at the same price, or even cheaper at retail (30% pre order discounts!). This means in future, I simply won't go for the extras up front for other Kickstarters, and will pre order instead.

Don't get me wrong, I'd far rather help at the KS level, but when I look back over the last year I could have saved myself hundreds and gotten the same thing, and had that money available for a year!

Just to pre-empt those that say 'but you get them first!' Well, I dropped about the same on Reaper as I did on DF, and I still don't have those minis.

Overall guys: I love your work, thanks so much for helping us bring it into our homes, and I hope to see many more ranges down the line!

Quiksilva,

First, Welcome to the DF forum! Please have a look at the great "cool photos" section... In regards to your comment about standard Game Tiles Sets being cheaper than the kickstarter, you are wrong. With the kickstarter, and all the free stretch goals reached, 1 Set actually transformed into nearly 2 Sets with plenty of diversified pieces being added to the amount of pieces you get per Set. The standard Game Tiles Set bought directly from the Web Site won't have those free pieces anymore and this was very clear in the kickstarter description. You can also see the original kickstarter as being a "buy 1 get 1 free" offer, something that unfortunately can't be happening for standard sales. I hope this makes it clearer...

My "back of the envelope" calculations would suggest that, for five unpainted sets, I saved $62.50 on walls, floors, corners, and standard doors alone.

No real complaints with pre ordering Add-Ons, pricing is six of one half a dozen of the other. The way i figure it, our orders help fund the molds to make all of those add on pieces (which in turn helps us get our stretch goals). Plus our orders help DF plan production by serving as a barometer for customer interest.

It is informative however to keep track of these things as it helps us decide how to apportion our money on the next Kickstarter. Had i known i could get them so reasonably later, i might have bought more sets and fewer add-ons. I definitely would have gotten a second Chamber of Sorrows and put off a stair pack until later.

It is also important to note that pre-order pricing is (as of yet) not available to the general public, but only to those who went to GenCon. Lets face it, GenCon attendees represent a special group of gamers, most of whom probably have influence on their local communities. These are the guys running events at the game stores and at other cons. It makes sense to show them a little love as they will likely be great ambassadors for the product.

I do hope that backers will get access to the pre-order pricing so those of us in a little better financial position now than during the Kickstarter can get the additional add-ons we held off on back in May.

My one hope is that in future Kickstarters DF can find a way to avoid the "buy two" issue with add-ons and just have a flat price for add-ons or perhaps a flat price for add-ons after the first (so they could build some shipping money into the first set). That would make it far easier to decide exactly what you want and can afford.

AND remember that the pre-order prices are less than the retail prices will be later on.

I notice Stefan has no badge. Why not?

Shouldn't he have a kickstarter creator badge? Or product creator?
