TOPIC: What do we WANT to see happen next?

I look at it as if it`s a car maker. The KS and future Dwarvenite stuff are the affordable runaround vehicles, and infrequent additions to the resin catalogue are the luxury models.

I see no need to sacrifice resin completely yet, as there remains a meaningful market for the specialist sets. Remember that despite having narrow margins and high shipping costs, Dwarven Forge was built on resin and survived on resin for over a decade.

I would imagine that there is no point in continuing basic resin sets that have been all but duplicated by Dwarvenite. However, until such time that various resin sets have been replaced by Dwarvenite, I would like to see the range continue in some degree.

As for the 1001 suggestions of what to make next, I`ll stay out of that one, but I would suggest that the priority should be to allow people to build flexibly as quickly as possible without getting distracted too much with frivolous pieces. That means basically getting advanced builder and narrow passage pieces, along with a few wicked additions pieces, into the Dwarvenite product stream as soon as possible.

@ Arcanedesign - you may want to check this out:

www.kickstarter.com/projects/554948184/itars-workshop-dungeon-terrain

Everyone has their wallets a little less heavy after the success of the DF KS, so it might not be coming at the right time, but if you can back this one, it might solve some of your problems.

With that being said, and seeing that this is my first forum post, I want to say: I am not affiliated with the company in any way, shape or form, and I am a *heavy* backer of the DF KS.

The only problem with the link I just posted - those accessories do NOT come painted, so depending on the type of person you are, it might be a deal breaker.

For me, I got 5 sets + all add ons of DF coming to me unpainted, so adding a few hundred more pieces isn't that big of a deal.

With THAT being said, I wanted to say hi to everyone. I have been a DF admirer for years, am new to the forums, and I have even met Stefan a few times at Gencon. My uncle, our primary GM, is a rabid DF collector, so I was always able to enjoy the beauty and to play with resin without needing to dig into my pockets.

I always wanted to start collecting terrain, even threw around the idea of casting my own pieces, but nothing ever came of it..and right around the time I was seriously re-considering getting some HA molds, I found out about the DF KS. I knew I would become one of the addicted.

Well...I was right. In the past 2 weeks I have been bidding on some of the older sets of DF on eBay to have something to supplement my game tiles when they finally arrive...and my wallet is screaming for me to stop....and I keep telling it to shut up, and that it will only hurt for a little while. :)

So, what would I like to see?

I think passageways and caverns, in Dwarvenite, are really the next logical move, but I know how beautiful the resin is, and I can appreciate if Stefan doesn't want to even try to produce caverns or lakes using it, because of loss of detail.

I would really love to see some resin restocks, like Catacombs, along with the ability to purchase more single pieces (can never have too many doors, secret doors or flooring.) Maybe that particular set would work for Dwarvenite? Without feeling the material personally, its hard to judge.

I think we are all in agreement though - wether we are new or old to DF, we all love it, and just want more! :)

Cheers, All!

Hi there Galladril,

Welcome to the forums and thank you for looking out on that KS with the dungeon dressing. I do happen to have a few of those painted models already and for some odd reason I am not the biggest fan.

I lean toward the sculpting styles of grendel and DF as their sculpts fit my visions more accurately. I have some of the older DG dungeon dressing and having some of that in dwarvenite, even unpainted, would be a godsend!

I am envious that your uncle plays and collects! I usually struggle to find players willing to stay in a group that isn't related to pathfinder society in my area. Nice to have a family group =).

Congrats on your purchase! I am extremely excited about it as well and I think a Caverns set would be the next logical step in the direction. I know I would enjoy it even though I have some of the polystone versions. I realize that I am not often comfortable taking it to away games, and then it is also quite time consuming unpacking and setting up, and then cleaning it up. I'd rather do the empty the backpack full of dwarvenite onto the table thing that stefan did in the video hehe.

If you are looking for dressings, i found this referenced elsewhere in the forums...

psomminiature.com/

Once my wallet has recovered, i may have to pick up a few pieces. The Barn Elevation pieces look like they would make perfect docks... how often do we end up in trouble on the waterfront ;) Some are painted some are not. It appears this company and Dwarven Forge have some type of relationship.

I laughed at the PFS vs. Roleplay comment . I do both. My attitude is a good campaign is like a romance, PFS is just pornography! Don't get me wrong, i like both. PFS gives me fast leveling, lots of loot and a chance to exorcise my inner munchkin (not to mention have four or five characters at different levels to chose from). Our weekly campaign has been exploring the same (homebrew) world for over three years and there are still mysteries we don't understand!

If only i had more nights to game ;)

I'd like to see accessories or other ways to bling up existing boardgames. For example, Fantasy Flight Game's Descent 2nd edition uses generic cardboard tokens to represent tombstones, altars, etc. I'd like to see DF provide an accessories pack so boardgamers (aka. a new potential audience) can make a quick purchase for their gaming bling. Maybe DF can partner with various game companies to make these things!

I think passages and caverns in dwarvenite are the next logical steps.

I am just wondering WHEN the next DF KS will be. I think I need a year or so to gather up the cash for another DF run.

62 sets and counting. In addition, a boatload of individual pieces or sets of pieces.

I hope they do KSs for caverns and passages in dwarvenite in the the next 6-10 months. As I really want to get as many if not more caverns as I did of the Game Tiles (5 sets and 4 add-ons).

I tend to create maps in my game with long cavern mazes connecting or connected to dungeons.

I’m going to echo most everyone else on this thread, but I’d definitely love to see a Caverns Kick Starter and a Passage Set Kick Starter in dwarvenite.

But as others have expressed, I’d really like to get my Game Tiles first before pledging to another Kick Starter. I really wouldn’t be able to pledge anywhere near what I did for more Game Tiles for awhile, mostly because of budgetary concerns. So a little time between the Kicks Starters would be great.

If the next one took place the same time next year, I think that would be ideal. This way, everyone has their first Kick Starter pledge in hand already, and by then I’m sure everyone will be clamoring for more. And it gives everyone time for their wallets to heal too!

I see so many requests to delay the next Kickstarter, if you do decide to do another one after all... I felt the need to throw a contrasting voice in.

Please, please, please don't make me wait until October 2014(!) to get dwarvenite Caverns in my hands! I can't wait that long, my head is spinning with evil ideas and I need caverns.

I am okay with purchasing the occasional special set in resin (I will be first in line when Catacombs are back in stock) but the bulk of my DF collecting is going to have to be in dwarvenite. My kids will want to play with this stuff, and moreover I WANT them to play with it and that just isn't going to fly with resin.

If the timing works out, I would suggest beginning another Kickstarter as soon as the first Game Tiles are out in customers' hot little hands, when they're hungriest for MORE.
