What ever they do next, I hope they wait a little while and let me catch up with my spending. :-)

I've read the posts about this topic and some of the comments about future DF KS's.

1) Rest! ! You both have sure earned and deserve some "down time"!

2) Get the Dwarvanite established. This means (to me) start transitioning all the possible resin Master Maze lines into Dwarvenite. It doesn't make sense to keep carrying any resin lines due to cost, shipping, etc. The one exception is if the quality is far less in Dwarvenite then you would be forced to us resin.

I can see though that it could be an issue, if for example, you can't do caverns in Dwarvenite then there could be A LOT of complaining from your new customers due to the much higher cost of resin compared to other sets made in Dwarvenite. Hopefully, all the MM sets in resin can be converted over to Dwarvenite.

3) Once most or all the resin sets have been converted to Dwarvenite, then start introducing new lines like Catacomb 2, Mines Passageway set, Throne Room Accessory Pack, etc.

3.1) Why in this order? When you do the next KS and have almost all Dwarvenite sets in stock then you can introduce one of the last remaining resin sets to convert over to Dwarvenite as a KS (like caverns). People will come to the DF site and have the ability to order extra sets AND dump mad amounts of cash into the KS as well!

You also have an established and stocked product line. By waiting 9-12 months, you will know the exact cost to produce resin lines to fill the original KS orders, restock supplies, and convert resin lines to Dwarvenite.

Lastly, you also have 9-12 months of getting feedback from established long term customers and new customers. This feedback will help to determine the best new KS and what DF lines to continue and to drop permanently.

I'll add one more voice to those crying out for a Dwarvenite Caverns set on KS (but also asking Stefan and Jeff to take a well-deserved rest first, and let my wallet recover... maybe same time next year?).

Given the success of this KS, I think a higher initial $ target would be justified, which should mean they could offer a basic set with a greater variety of pieces, which would be appropriate for the natural features of a cavern where there is more variety than in a regular dungeon.

But I'll look forward to whatever they come up with!

To me Dwarvenite seems best suited for use as a mass product and resin for truly special features. So that said, here would be my vote:

1) Rest!
2) Update Website and Forums. New customers mean new load on your website.
3) Kickstarter for Caverns in Dwarvenite
4) Continue to support resin for smaller run item and feature sets and situational sculpts, e.g. altars, and the like.
5) Add-On Kickstarter for Dwarvenite in New Paint Schemes.

My two cents. But 9-12 months would be ideal for another Kickstarter.

I have seen mention that they intend to run Dwarvenite and resin lines side by side. From what I have gathered, resin gives better fine detail, so it is good for making awesome set pieces and limited edition runs. The Dwarvenite will be for core product lines that are more affordable.

They definitely deserve a bit of rest, and the updates to the site and the forums are probably in order as well. They have been slowing down a bit since the KS got into full swing. I think they can expand the basic line a bit after they have a chance to get things started up in October. Maybe add a few pieces that seem needed and respond a bit to demand from customers.

The next logical step to me is to announce a new KS to add a second basic line. Maybe a core caverns set with more detailed pieces then coming from the resin set or a new resin set designed to compliment the Dwarvenite basic caverns. Obviously they would want to wait a bit so people's wallets can recover and the get a chance to fall in love with their Dwarvenite.

I really like the idea of a modular medieval building set. The rooftops mentioned also sound good to me. I'm sure that Jeff and Stefan will have great news for us later.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

On the subject of KS next year - and timing..
I'm pretty sure this figured in with DF's plans but here goes:
If this KS had not been during TAX REFUND time of year I would probably only pledged a 1/4 (or less) of what I did pledge.
I believe there are a lot of other backers who may say the same?
I think the KS was WELL-timed!
That said, see you same time next year? ;-)

What do I WANT to see happen next? I want to see my Reaper Bones arrive so I can start painting.

That way when my Game Tiles arrive, I can do a quick dry brush on them. Then I can inhabit my new dungeon with my Painted Bones. Then I will just sit and smile at my little world until my wife comes downstairs and asks what the heck is going on.

What do I WANT To see Dwarven Forge do next? I want Jeff and Stephan to treat Game Tiles as if it was their first stand-alone product. The objective is to bring the best value in 3D terrain. I want them to take lessons learned from the classic designs and business model. I want them to feel unconstrained by the old collectors but realize we are part of the market.

This will still bring incredible value to collectors. The DF Game Tiles kickstarter showed me that the best overall product will appeal to the people with old sets. DF saw the value and simplicity of the 2"x2" design. DF saw, from past marketing experience, little things like door variety, angled corners and curved corners add allot to anybody. How many of us really needed more rooms sets? But we sure as heck bought them didn't we!

As an example, lets pretend that Stefan knew the perfect new "passage and small room" set design. Lets again pretend that it was the following: 2" passages with notches, L-intersection tile, T-intersection tile, 4"x4" room/intersection with four removable walls, 6" passageway with two removable walls. (Just pretend. The design might suck but pretend it is really good.) If it is better, the collectors will buy it just like we did Game Tiles Kickstarter.

They know, I think, that selling individual items does not work well, except maybe from a website. Therefore they need to give us very versatile sets. Whatever they do with the new passage design will be something we all want. Whatever is produced, old collectors at least have the ability to repaint it to suit our needs. Same for caverns set.

As another example, lets pretend they knew the best new cavern design. I personally wish they had done it in Game Tiles rather then the ice cavern set. Why? Because if we could get cheap unpainted caverns, we could have painted a standard set, or painted it as ice caverns or painted it as a hellscape. Then they could have sold us collector and newbies expansion sets for chasms and hellscape probably in resin.

DF will still make us the fantastic collector sets like Catcombs 2. And they will make neat things like individual piece hellscape designs. I don't even have hellscape and I want them! Game Tiles does not change that market at all. Catacombs will probably never go into GT but collectors will still buy it. And by making a market for even more beginners with GT, it will eventually make the collector market bigger which means they can then make MORE of the old resin, collector designs.

I'm new to collecting Dwarven Forge and had never purchased anything before this kickstarter, bu here is what I would like to see. After Stefan and Jeff get their much deserved rest, and get caught up with everything they want to restock what I would love to see would be dwarvenite corridors followed by caverns.

I personally would prefer the corridors that Biowizard suggests on this (www.dwarvenforge.com/forum?func=view&catid=514&id=50834&limit=12&start=12) thread, which Stefan refers to as the "Windmill" design.

I took advantage of this once in a lifetime deal to get all the basic room pieces I will probably ever need. With corridors and 10-20 sets of dwarvenite caverns I feel like I could create 90% of the dungeons I'd be interested in.

I'm sure I will end up getting some resin sets down the line to spice up my dungeons but I would really like cover the basics first with corridors and caverns.

I am excited with this kickstarter. So, my recommendations would be:
(1) Get rest after this successful kickstarter
(2) Execute on the post-kickstarter fulfillment plan (online purchase and add-on's)
(3) Execute on the Game Tile delivery ... and we'll advertise and champion your products
(4) Upgrade the online store/forums with option to buy more Game Tiles (sets or individuals)
(5) Collect more feedback for a few months
(6) Start another kickstarter for another set ... that way we take your risk of production run upfront costs
(7) Make GameTime designs (the prior set) available for purchase for 3d printers

I can't wait to buy more ... but I need to use them more. I judge at many con's ... i know the effectiveness of a well visualized module (when people see the large mini ... they react emotionally different than to a token or a stand-in mini). I am expecting better reaction by laying out the "fog of war" with Game Tiles. I'll need some practice and logistics planning. But, some modules will be well suited with the current set.

No matter what you do. Help us make Game Tiles indispensable to gaming! Help us re-create the most engaging rooms and dungeons. Then, create opportunities for us to feed the need to buy more. We will buy what we can afford based on how well our gaming groups react to them. I'd love to pickup a "small pack" (say less than $20/pack) at the LFGS every few weeks when I go game.

No matter what you do now. I'm am excited at the shared support for Game Tiles and I look forward to more.

I agree with much of what has been said. Given the incredible success of the Kickstarter, i will be thrilled if they make their promised October delivery. I won't fault them if it takes until November or even later to get the painted sets out (i will however be reduced to trembling and convulsions, restraints may be required toward the end!)

In the future:

Caverns! - Any irregular edge tiles will do. We all have a good stock of man made walls, lets get some dragon lairs, ogre caves, what have you... these would be very useful

Rough Edge pieces - If you have embankment edges, then an old battle mat or even a yard of fabric in the right color can become what lies past the edge... One set of these edges and you could have a subterranean river, or the banks of a lake of fire or whatever. These would be very versatile and easy to adapt to whatever you need

For the rest i am quite sure i will be tempted by whatever goodness Stefan dreams up.

I too would like to see smaller more affordable packs, as well as support for the FLGS. I realize DF has moved away from the distribution model, but please help my local store stay in business! They are where i game several times a month, where i met most of the players in my two weekly games and how i have been introduced to lots of differing RPGs and systems like Storyteller and Cortex. Without them i would probably be playing World of Warcraft, instead of rolling dice around a table with friends
