Hello folks,

I figured I might as well pop in here and say hi too. I'm also new to Dwarven Forge, drawn in in a big way by the Kickstarter.

Much as I wish I already had the game tiles in hand, it's also kind of fun to continue the anticipation... As a sculptor I now have all kinds of plans for projects to populate and decorate my new dungeon (never mind developing a new RPG system and a world / background in which to set it!). Fun stuff.

I'm another new to DF addict, brought in by the KSer.

I've been looking into 3D terrain for a couple of years now. Looked at DF back then but thought I'd try my hand at homemade stuff with Hirst Arts stuff. While I loved the process of designing, I don't really have the appropriate space to take over for mass production and I quickly realized that I would never be able to make enough to suit my needs.

Saw the KSer and took the plunge for a lot of sets and addons. Since then I decided to buy some of the polystone sets, and I now I wonder why I ever waited... Since receiving my first five sets earlier last week, I've ordered 9 more sets -- mainly all limited edition sets and am anxiously awaiting the restock!

I'll throw my hat in here as well. I'm Arnold, wasn't on the Kickstarter Forums, just trolled the whole time ;)

I have wanted Dwarven Forge since the first time i saw it. Never took the plunge because it didn't seem practical to travel with all those beautiful pieces and their individual styrofoam compartments (3 kids means i don't game at my house!). Dwarvenite solves all of that!!! It is very easy to imagine throwing together encounter locations for PFS scenarios in just a few minutes and really taking the game to the next level.

I watched from the beginning trying to justify buying two painted sets (3 kids = no time to paint). As the deal got sweeter and sweeter, i ended up at 3 sets and 4 add-ons. I have rarely been happier to part with money ;)

Thanks to Jeff and Stefan for making this an amazingly fun Kickstarter. Plus a big shout out to the Resinheads (Jackattack, Biowizard, Law to name a few) here on the forums for being so welcoming and supporting to all of us newbies, you have really made these forums seem like home.

Counting the days!

Heya Becky, et. Gang. I was Eric on the KS forums. Looking to pick up a few sets when the restock hits then wait for the ks sets to come in later on in the year.

This really is a huge movement for fantasy gaming. 5k people bought dungeon tiles to use in their games.. That is huge.

While I believe the majority of imagery should come from the imagination of the players and the details laid out by the gm, these sets give so much to the tangible aspect of play. Like Stefan said in the video, you have no doubt where you are standing or what you can do when you throw down those tiles.

Whether you are a room by room builder, or if you prefer to lay out your sets all at once, you are part of a world wide gaming phenomenon that has one thing in common:the interest of taking our table top gaming to the highest level.

I may be jumping the gun, but having millions of tiles spreading across the world and being put into play can only be helping the gaming culture. I am excited and I can not wait to see how the world is impacted by this.

So it's been a couple months since there's been much in the way of conversation or updates on here. I see some people have little green "I'm a Backer" badges on their profile pics. I do not, yet, I'm a Backer. :(

Just wondering what news there is from the staff on the production front?
(And how to get my little, green "I'm a Backer" badge?)

Thanks,
Robert

WHEEE! NVM. Found the answer to the badge elsewhere.

RBloom0566 - I will summaries what I have gleaned from recent posts:
The best update with the KS is that all appears to be on track and 'early' examples will be on show at GENCON this summer specially flown in for the occasion.

Jeff has been overseeing the DF plant in China whilst Stefan designs and Sculpts for both the next resin sets and (most likely) a corridor 3D Tiles KS.

The only negative ? (That is really a positive) That the KS had to take place when it did so as to come out first with a credible well priced and great looking 'plastic' (I simplify - but use the term plastic and not resin so you can imagine what other companies who work a great deal in plastic might also be planning) 3D tile system. This has been very successful from both the backers and DF point of view and secures us all for additional runs. This has impacted restocks of the resin lines but this was due to the bringing forward of the KS & funding in general.
What DF have achieved is to bring a lower priced, quality 3D tile to market that was previously not available.
DF will be taking orders at GENCON for those who missed out on the KS.
As Stephan had hoped - "Bringing 3D dungeon Tiles for all".

That the future is bright & looking good for continuing success of DF products.

That you & I & all of us have 'backed the right horse', that this bunch of collectors & gamers & fans & hobbyists are friendly & passionate about DF & gaming & long may that continue.

Hope that helps.
(Note - If I got anything wrong - let me know & I will edit / correct as necessary)
