WELCOME TO OUR CLUB! 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Hello Gamers! Welcome!

I posted this on the Kickstarter but also wanted to post this here for any new collectors who are coming to our site:)

I just want to thank you all so much for supporting us and joining this wonderful group of ours:) And thank you so much to all our loyal old timers who have so graciously taken it upon themselves to help all these new folks! We have the greatest club of collectors! I have honestly been moved to tears at times because of all that is happening here...it is really a dream come true for me!
We are listening to you, and reading every comment with great interest and joy...initially we were just going to give more of the same pieces because it really is the "bread and butter" of your building blocks....the base of everything possible...but we have heard your pleas, and are struggling to work out what we can add to our boxes without going overweight or becoming to large and then needing another box, which would be a disaster and quite literally destroy our whole benefit from this....so please bear with us:) It's only day 2....WooHoo!
Every mold we make is incredibly expensive even as much as $10,000 although we might be able to combine some, but it also depends a lot on the size, complexity, etc....but we have some good ideas!
Also, fear not, we have mostly gained so many new collectors that we are confident that after this campaign we can continue to get re-orders and make more Game Tile sets of different types! So we hope to be able to provide you all with many more exciting shapes and kool creations to add to your "bread and butter" building blocks...trust me, 17 years of experience says that you should take advantage of this great once in a lifetime deal to hoard up as many of these basic building blocks as you can because after this kickstarter we cannot promise these basic sets will be so cheap as they are now...for one, we are able to get them at a really great price right now because of the massive size this run is going to be...everything in the factory depends on the size of the order, every 1000's of pieces brings the cost down a few pennies....after this campaign when we are only ordering small amounts the cost may actually become double for us! So order now if you can, remember, these Sets are modular and will last many lifetimes...they are also very re-sell-able, so in fact, consider these something more like an investment, just ask our longtime collectors how often they are able to sell there sets after many years of use for MORE than what they paid for them:)
In a few days I will be posting a really apprehensive painting tutorial, more filming of which will happen tomorrow...sorry it's taking so long, but i really want it to be perfect!
Again, Thanks for joining our crazy club!

Welcome!

Stefan

Thanks for the warm welcome Stefan! I also posted this over in the Kickstarter, but thought I'd say it here too.

I've known about Dwarven Forge since the 90s. My friends and I always look forward to stopping by the booth at Origins and Gen Con. We've been playing in DF dungeons for years now, but I only just registered on the forum and became a customer myself with the KS (not counting the pieces my gaming group has bought for our DM over the years.) I'm so happy to find the DF folks and the larger community to be so welcoming and passionate about the products and about gaming. Game on!

I'm glad to say that the fantastic deal this Kickstarter already offers, along with my use of DF sets during our sessions, has also enticed a few of my players and aquaintances to pledge. I know at least one or two of them really had to rub a few pennies together to make it happen, but this was their opportunity to have Dwarven Forge pieces of their very own. I look forward to putting our mutual investments to good use. There will be a Mega Dungeon this fall for sure.

I'm just getting ready to run my own game for the first time, so I was stoked to see this KS after looking at DF products for so long!

Welcome everyone! It has been a crazy past few weeks, and it is great to see so many new gamers coming into the Dwarven Forge family. There are some posts and photos in this Forum, so have a look around. And the collectors who hang out here are very friendly and helpful. We are all very lucky to have this Forum to share our passion for all things Dwarven Forge!

Greetings and thanks for the warm welcome. First off I would like to say that first the moment I laid eyes on the Dwarven Forge products it was love at first sight. Going through mid life crisis some people buy fast cars and fast women but I prefer to re-live my youth by getting back into D&D. Those were some of the best time of my life, sitting around with a bunch of friends having a blast playing D&D. So I've decided to reacquaint myself with the current happenings with the D&D and the Pathfinder RPG. These products are totally incredible and exactly what I was looking for in my new role as GM and introducing a new generation to tabletop RPG's. I also took advantage of this opportunity to contribute a Kickstarter pledged at the 3 sets level of dungeon gray. Awesome! I'm so excited and can’t wait to receive the Dwarven Forge sets!

My story is much the same as Mixolydian's. I started playing in '76 until the mid '80's.
Now I'm (much) older and I'm proud to say getting back into RPGs is my midlife crisis (if you want to call it that).
I'm also into Pathfinder (now) but playing in a weekly game called Lore with a small group. I've also gotten back into painting minis (as is fairly apparent from my posts with pics?). I've a FB page to show off pics. I was recently asked if I do commissions and was very flattered but no, I'm not. I only made the http://Facebook.com/TheMassiveMiniPaintingProject as a vanity page and for anyone else who thinks painting minis is some magical impossible feat only achieved through constant meditation and sacrificing small animals to colorful deities. Hopefully my 500+ Bones will arrive soon to keep me busy.

I've taken the plunge into DF into the deep end (10 unpainted sets with 6 unpainted addons).
I love your professional painting but in about 10 years I'll need a few hobbies? ;-)
Having pieces like these was always unreal when I was younger. Now I will be able to live the dream and even leave some awesome RPG gaming stuff for my kids someday? ;-)
I look forward to seeing more as I explore your world, Stefan!

Thanks Stefan! Greetings TexasStu, good to see other's out there like me. That's the same period I was playing D&D too. Cool miniature! The Bard, one of my favorites! I can’t wait to start painting Minis again too.

welcome TexasStu!
I love to hear things like this...that is exactly why we are doing this Kickstarter...to get newbies, but also to bring back the old school folks! our margins are very low here...so we can get more folks to bite:)
look forward to seeing some setups and more of your miniature paints on these forums! thank you for taking the plunge and believing in us:)
