If the Cavern Stone Dry brush is the same color as Cavern dry brush then I just ordered a second bottle of the same paint in my Extras purchase :-/
Is there a way to change the second bottle to another color paint in Fundafull?

True enough and understood...

But now that two separate products are available is there any interest in showing modifiers how to match their Game Tiles with the Master Maze pieces?

I'm sure there are plenty of us who would love to create a Keep that matches the ice cavern color...or a fire giants lair constructed from cooled (and not so cooled) magma.

The possibilities of mixing these sets are truly endless but if would help a ton if we knew the color swatches to ALL the sets, not just the Game Tiles.

What do you recommend for the gloss?

But they were still requested by those who wanted to paint HirstArts and other off-brand accessories to match their Master Maze.

I will say that I'm a little disappointed that the caverns appear to closely resemble the game tiles pieces in color now, when they didn't in the Kickstarter. :(

Everyone has their own style of painting. Where did the photo come from? Is this even a factory paint job?

I think you could do a medium (no too light, not too heavy) drybrush of the Earthstone in the first step over the whole tile, and that would give it a more warm, brown/tan look like the resin pieces in the promo pic. The game tile grey is prevalent in the step by step, and can easily be changed based on the color of layers under the highlights.

Both pics are official by DF. The first is from the Kickstarter, the second is from Stefan in another thread here.

I ordered painted caverns, so unfortunately unless I want to paint over my already-paid-for paint job, I'll just have to deal with it.

I just wanted to voice my opinion that they look much different than the KS pics and look very similar to my pre-painted Game Tiles. Maybe they'll look different in person.

I think the color balance on those two photos isn't the same. I'm guessing they were shot under light sources with different color temperatures and not color-corrected to exactly match.

I've seen the factory painted caverns pieces in person, and they look great.

The main colors on the factory pieces (those warm earth tones) are essentially the same as the prototype pieces. In fact I believe they painstakingly matched the paint color under Stefan's scrutiny.

The only big difference is that the base color (the raw Dwarvenite) is darker than the base color of the prototypes' gray resin. Other than the color of the casting material, the factory pieces and the prototype pieces should look almost identical.

In my opinion, it looks even better with a darker base as there is more contrast in the deep cracks. This helps a lot of the little details pop better, especially from a distance (such as the distance your average player is from the game table).

I'd wait until your tiles show up before you freak out. I'm sure you'll be very happy with how they look.

And if you're not, I bet a quick wash with a warm brown that's lighter than the dungeon gray Dwarvenite will probably lighten things up quickly.
