Re:Future Dwarvenite KS 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have been salavating over the thought of Sewers in Dwarvenite. Especially if they interact well with the standard Game Tiles. I can understand if DF feels they won't sell well.

The Medieval buildings lend themselves well to Dwarvenite because they are relatively smooth and flat surfaces. I'd be down for that as a kickstarter. But, I'd rather see the sewers, perhaps with a catacombs like piece or two, as a dwarvenite product.

My list, in order of preference, for what should follow Caverns.

-Sewers
-Catacombs
-Ruins
-Medieval Buildings
-Rooftops

I'm thinking that the Catacombs and Sewers could be combined together. Or the Catacombs and Ruins could be combined. Run the rooftop pieces at the same time as the Medieval building set and you'll get lots of people who will want roofs for both their stucco and stone buildings.

You guys hoping for some medieval buildings should check out tabletop world. They have the coolest stuff I've seen by far. Addressing sewers, I think you guys don't realize how many games venture into the sewers after a thieves guild or a pack of wererats. Sewers will be very useful and these will be the first ones available.

P.S. seriously, go check out tabletop world

Very nice stuff, but super expensive and not painted. MBA has comprable stuff, btu is painted. DF MBS with some custom roofs = playable interiors!

An impressive product, but I think it fulfills a different purpose. You'll hear no argument from me against sewers, but I do think buildings first makes more sense.

Do a quick search for keyword "sewer" on this site, using "Any date".

Ainsty Castings has an unpainted sewer line.

My vote is for sewers long before a building(s).

I'm not a huge fan of sewers. I know its a canonical environment and I'd buy a few sets of it. But I feel it wouldn't get as much use as I'd like. If I were to get sewers I'd rather them be as detailed and intricate as possible so I think Resin is better there.

I think one of the most useful KS III would be passages that match the GT from KS I. Passages are popular, people would likely buy multiple sets; I think they should be useful to new buyers who don't have GT (or they can buy GT while waiting for the KSer to ship). Plus all the AB type pieces fit in naturally as add-ons.

Personally, Sewers would probably be the only other set of "Game Tiles" I think I would purchase (after Dungeons and Caverns). While it may not be the type of thing I'd need 10+ sets of, ~4 or so sets might be useful.

The reality is (and no offense to the hardcore collectors or Stefan) that I'm not going to purchase game tiles for every single possible situation (Woodlands, etc.) For me, game tiles are something for exploring (caves, dungeons) where close quarters and character position really come into play. I think I'll live without medieval buildings / city streets - and for those special situations like: "fighting inside the tavern" - the dungeon tiles, a few tables, window pieces, door, etc... will suffice nice enough.

My two cents.

I totally see your point. I would like medieval sets in GT though cause I do alot of abandoned city adventures where there are alot of building to explore so I would end up using them alot.

I'm not sure what yur getting at. That people talk about sewers a lot? Please clarify what you want me to find, I'm not gonna read all those posts

I was unaware of the company Ainsty Castings and their sewer line but apparently I do stand corrected. Good eye. Although looking at it I gotta say I'm not really a fan, I think DF will do way better.

Maybe I'm a lil confused by what people are talking about when they refer to medieval buildings. Someone please describe. Are we just talking about outdoor props? Buildings with removable roofs where interior can be used? Something completely different I'm not thinking of?
