CoS Paint Scheme Question 1 Year, 3 Months ago
What color are the bricks on the OUTSIDE of the Chamber of Sorrows pieces going to be painted? Will they be bloody and black like the inner walls? or Standard dungeon color?

I am torn...

Standard paint makes it easy to hide the Chamber within a larger structure

Bloody and black means greater versatility at setting up different rooms or using walls as partitions within rooms

I just wanted to know because i am working on something {cackles wickedly...}

Thanks!

That is what i figured, time to redesign with a double wall to keep the Chamber secret ;)

Can we get the outside without the bloodied walls and with standard paint job? I'd like to hide this chamber like the previous poster stated. I'm willing to pay extra if I need to.

I would be curious to hear this answer as well. I think the back of the walls being painted in the standard paint job would be cool.

But if the back of the walls are "standard", then they lose their utility for creating more interesting shaped nooks and crannies within the CoS. Part of why I'm getting multiple CoS sets is to be able to do more complicated layouts with them and I think keeping the back the same as the front works great in that case. And since the pieces are all 2x2 its easy to double wall if you want to hide it.

Asking for the CoS paint on one side and standard EHP on the other side is asking for a custom paint job on the entire set.

I understand that it might be a hassle, but there's no reason that those who have purchased Expertly Hand Painted sets can't repaint any portion of their new sets/pieces.

I've already offered to pay more for this custom job. I know my limitations! It seems easy to repaint the outside if your a painter and have the supplies. I don't have supplies and am not a painter. I have no talent!

Or find someone local to do it for you. Most local gaming stores have at least one card or bulletin for someone who takes miniatures painting commissions. Their work may even be on display so you can judge its quality.

One set would be easy. But...I am guessing with over 5000 backers wanting tens of thousands of sets I think it is safe to assume that the fine folks at Dwarven Forge will not be opening the floodgates for custom orders at this moment.

To be honest I will find a way to use what is being sent to me either way. :-)

I am just glad that they offered us "newbies" a chance to jump in at these wonderful prices. Of course we willnot discuss what I plan to spend once the restock happens. LOL

Yea I'm glad to get them however they come. I'm glad to get the pieces painted on both sides. I'm excited about the COS and already have a custom "bloodstone" to put inside it.
