TOPIC: Which Paints?

Which Paints? 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Can anyone help me out with which brands and colors are used on the pre-painted tiles?

Are the two in the video it?

Want to assure my stuff matches.

I speak with no authority (I am after all only a Hob-Goblin ;) ) but recall reading somewhere that there will be full detailed 'Game Tile - Painting Tutorials'. I guess as long as they are out before the Tiles are - we will all be good!
Hope that helps until someone 'official' can confirm.

we are perfecting the painting Video...it will show both the one touch easy drybrush and also a more advanced 3 step process that matches the tiles you see in the video...I use mostly Reaper paints, but also have a splattering of all kinds of brands...the Video tutuorial will be up by Thursday I am told....

update: reshooting some stuff...may take a few days more...

Expect here a flurry of tips and different methods discussed and showcased once the items hit the backers.

From my own experience painting Hirst Arts to match:

a) it depends on the texture. As strange as it sounds - floors need a different approach as the walls
b) there are different ways to reach the same end result
c) it differs a lot according to the basing colour. The great bit about the Kickstarter - it will be much more equal as I ever was able to base my own pieces
d) material differs - yes - PE or polyurethane or plaster all have been different. Again - it will help a lot that all will be so much more the same

Dwarvenite actually takes paint really, really well...I didn't have to use primer and the base color we provide the pieces in eliminates your first painting step as it is the color that you should have in the cracks if you wish to match our Mastermaze color scheme....

however, you may not want to match our colors:) I really look forward to seeing how fans paint their pieces! We have a wonderful community here at Dwarven Forge who love to post pictures and give tips and adulation's !

Indeed! I can't wait to see a set dry-brushed in black and silver and Shadox's blacklight paint!

Someone mentioned adding moss and I'd definitely like to see how to add moss, torches, skellies hanging from the walls, water, and other goodies! Moss is pretty easy to get from Michael's and is also inexpensive.
